The hayride and the haunted prison were pretty cool. The website hypes the place up beyond what you actually get there but i didn't hate it. It wasn't an experience I need to repeat tho.
I attended this event with my brother and we both had a great time. The hayride had tons of cool special effects and enthusiastic actors. The haunted house (Unknown 2.0) was very professional, like a world class major theme park, and was extremely creepy. The Prison attraction was intense. Plenty of jumps and screams and top notch props and makeup. I’m looking forward to seeing what they add next year.
Went Friday night with 6 teenagers and we had blast! This is probably my 8th or 9th year going there with kids. We drive over an hour, always have a fun time! Great staff at the attractions. The actors do an awesome job! They have some great hiding spots and know how to get you!
I experienced something very nice in the prison. There was a man with a little girl maybe around 8 or 9 behind us. She clearly did not like it a few minutes after she walked in. I witnessed the staff being very good to her and not scaring her then helped her and her dad to exit so she did not have to go through the whole thing.
The laser tag was lots of fun! There were two teams and zombies walking around that you could shoot.
Always a fun and scary time at Shocktoberfest!
The haunted hayride was put together with a coherent story much better than the haunted house, but we actually had more fun in the haunted house. Both were a good time and our group of 6 didn't have very long waits for either attraction. We got there shortly after they opened at 7. Make sure you bring cash because they do not accept cards!
I drive an hour and a half to check this place out. I got there early anticipating long lines . I first stopped at the bathroom and it was disgusting, no soap and only cold water and no paper towels . That made me wonder if the employees who serve food there use the same bathrooms. I purchased tickets for the hayride and the jail. $60 for 4 tickets . Definitely a little overpriced. I waited until dark to go on the hayride hoping it would be better , so me and my date walked around to see what they had to offer . A few carnival games that nobody was playing and a few places to grab food that definitely didn't look appealing or clean. They seemed very unorganized and some of the employees were kind of rude. Once it was dark we waited on the line for the hayride. It was a short line but they had a band and it was horrible! This is a family place and you have a death metal band that's excessively loud with a lead singer that is screaming . There were small children online that actually looked frightened. The hayride itself was cheesy . There weren't enough actors and some of them weren't even in costume . The jail wasn't to bad . It's self guided and was actually put together very well. This place didn't seem to crowded when I was leaving at 8:30 so I'm guessing some of the other attractions weren't as good .
My boyfriend and I just came here last night and overall it was very fun and scary. We did the Unknown 2.0 first which exceeded my expectations because I've come here multiple times and that attraction was not always the scariest. Last night I was pretty scared even though I don't have many fears! Then, we did the Prison of the Dead and I have always been scared to go in! It definitely was fun especially because we went with a group of 3 girls who were so scared and one of them was clinging onto me the whole time! I even screamed multiple times and I don't scream often. Then, we went on the Zombie Safari Hayride for our last attraction and I usually LOVE the hayrides, for example we just went on the Haunted Hayride at Field of Screams and it was so fun! This time at Shockoberfest, it was very boring. We went with a very small group and the driver drove so fast that the actors didn't jump out til we almost past the scene that they were hiding in! The only time I was scared was when my boyfriend scared me because it was so boring! But, the atmosphere is great and I loved how spaced out each attraction was!
Had an amazing night. Very organized. The attractions were well thought out and scary! Love the actors! props and scenery really added to the experience. Also great offering of food and snacks - perfect way to end the night! A fun night for all!
Every attraction was worth the price. Each attraction was scary in its own way. The zombie lazer tag was my favorite part, I've never experienced anything like it. The entire night was organized and easy to go from attraction to attraction!
Love everything about Shocktoberfest! We visit multiple times, and it's the best! They update the attractions every year, and we love to see the new things they do. Food is filling and taste so good!
The Prison of the dead tour is awesome. Went there in 2008 and it is totally different from what it was but still good. Hayride was alright. I purchased the paintball ticket. You don't get to see the guns until near the end of the ride and it was boring and a waste of that 10 extra dollars. Other then that nice folks. Actors are great and they stay in character at all times. It was a long drive from philly..
I paid 30 bucks extra to skip the line. But I had to wait 45 minutes on a line anyway. The attraction zombie night run was not open till 1am. It was 930pm, when I was trying to do my last attractions. I wasn't waiting 4 hours to do this. I told the owner your attraction was not open & I paid to do it. The owner said I would have to wait 4 hours or come back next week. No refunds what so ever. No exceptions. No one said there were set times to do this attraction. I came a long way & I felt robbed from my hard earned money. The place was not scary all. Redundant zombies who scream. I didn't know zombies were able to scream. Worst Haunted Attraction I Ever Been to. Never again
