Great head boatfriendly crew, stable boat and experienced captain. They work hard to get you on the fish.

All of the workers on the boat sucked. The only good one was the captain. When you catch a fish they immediately come over reel it up for you and throw it back. Only caught 2 fish in the four hours, can't entirely blame them for that but I didnt even get a picture because they pulled it up for me a thew it back. We needed help with a new hook and we didn't even feel comfortable enough to ask so the two of us shared one pole the second half of the time. Not welcoming or helpful at all. Would not go back and do not recommend.

My boss recommended that I go on the Golden Eagle when I told him that I was taking some family and out of town friends fishing.
We had the time of our lives and we learned things about the ocean, the New Jersey coast, and of course - FISHING!
The mates Scottie and Antwan were extremely fast and efficient when things got hectic with several people reeling in fish at once. Those guys are top notch and were I'm instrumental in shaping one of the most memorable and fun times that we have enjoyed as a family.
Thank you Scottie, Antwan, and Captain!

Been on this boat a few times this year, some trips better than others but the effort is always there. One time they sailed with only 9 people and wound up going 30 miles off to the Brooklyn/Queens area but found the fish and it ended up being a memorable day. Can't ask for more than that. Crew is top notch and the captain friendly and outgoing, even coming down on deck to joke around with us. Full galley is a plus too.

No fish caught on this trip for me, however, it was still fun. The boat was pretty elbow to elbow packed definitely making the experience cramped. Lots of people did catch fish this trip, just not me. They had some lunch items available but you are really responsible for bringing your own things to eat and drink if you don't want to pay for them. Get there early to get a good spot on the boat.

Worst fishing experience of my life. We booked the boat and had a reserved spot. They did lay the poles down , but then someone came and asked if it was taken and the mate said it was open. Note that we were also the first people on the boat as well, and they didn't even acknowledge the reserve or being first. We spent at least 1 1/2 hour adjusting the boat, anchoring. The mate was beyond useless, he couldn't even gaff and ended up losing it. Someone ended up tangling me and the mate freaked out and cut my line even though it was snap swivel. First time me and my crew didn't tip at all. Wouldn't reccomend this trip to anyone. Avoid

Not good. Went August 2014 for night blues. Waited extra 15 mins past launch time for a large party of 15 to board after we were already shoulder to shoulder packed and seeming over capacity. This caused us to miss the bridge opening and wait another half hour it seemed which we never made up for. My daughter caught 2 large blues and myself 1 at the first or second stop but spent rest of night in huge tangles with 10-20 other people constantly requiring our lines be cut and wait for rods to be refitted. Crew was helpful in that regard. Many around us just stopped fishing half way as it was not worth getting in tangles. As we docked I learned an older guy at bow was the son of either the captain or crew member and he caught over 30 blues while most on boat had very few. Of course we all had to wait over an hour for his fish to be cleaned first. I think they positioned the boat so both sides drifted and tangled leaving the few in back to fish unobstructed. Won't be going back and my 4 kids love to fish so we are looking elsewhere. Too overcrowded, and 1 rude crew member.

Went on 7/12/15 my son and I only caught one each, both were too small so they went back in. We had a great time on the Golden Eagle, they had 4 very helpful deck hands to help you out if needed, too bad we did not have much luck, but we did try at least 5-6 different spots. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day a work!!! We will be back in a few weeks to try our luck again!
