The music they play isn't what I would choose to listen to, and the bathrooms could be cleaner. But the equipment is well maintained, the lighting is good, the color scheme isn't terrible, and the staff is friendly. I can deal with the other stuff.
Friendly staff. Good equipment.
Friendly staff. Upbeat. Well maintained equipment & facility. A great place to workout!
Great classes. Nice locker rooms. Convenient location.
I had been a member before at Golds in camp hill. Had a horrible experience with Joyce the owner. Staff was rude and the owner was even ruder!! So I quit going! That was 10 years ago! So Golds opens in linglestown and I started going there. I had heard it was a great atmosphere and the owners were really nice. The gym was clean and everyone was really nice. I enjoyed my experience. I had heard that the owners of linglestown bought the camp hill location. So I decided to go back and workout with my girlfriend. I had been going for about 2 months. Everything was good. This past Saturday I go in to workout at the camp hill location and when I was done and leaving the girl behind the counter told me that I did not have an account there and that I was in collections. Cunfused I asked how is that possible when I have Health ways and don't pay Golds directly. She then in a nasty tone told me to get out!!!! I was cunfused and now really pissed off!! So I left! Decided was not going to deal with attitude from some little hog school girl. So today Monday 8/7/2017 I call and talk to someone who can assist me in finding out what the girl was talking about. And we sesttle the issue. I go work out and at the end of my workout I get a phone call from the owner. He proceeded to tell me how I was going to act and what I was going to do in his gym. Stated that he knows all of his employees and that none of them would have given me and attitude! I have been lifting for 15 years and have been to a lot of gyms. The owner of Golds was extremely rude! Told me I could go elsewhere to workout. Not the kind of gym I need to be associated with! Some things never change. Golds gym is a joke!! Great name and it used to mean something to advid body builders! Now it's just a joke of a gym!! Good luck to anyone that goes to either location. I myself will be headed back to a real gym! LA Fitness where I get treated with respect!
This is a real gym, they have 150lb dumbbells, squat racks and a place to deadlift.
I had gone to this gym for about 2 years. I recently put my membership on hold as I was leaving the area for an extended period of time. I had no issues with the staff when I told them I may not be back they still treated me like I was a valued member. I love he gym and all it has to offer I'm very pleased to be rejoining soon.
Love this gym ,great atmosphere and a lot of different things that make it great. There is a ladies only room with a nice selection of equipment and free weights. In the main area the dumbbells go up to 150lbs and have the machines you need. The cardio is top notch. along with a very diverse class schedule.Staff is always friendly. The best thing about any Golds is the travel pass.you can use it at any other Golds farther the 50mi for free.
They have a kid's club
I finally found a gym that I want to keep going back to. It has everything but a pool, but I don't consider that a flaw. I love that my membership includes so many classes! It also seems like they are improving the number of them after normal work hours (4pm+)! For 30ish dollars a month, who can beat it?
The Y is 3 times the price and doesn't include classes, you figure out the math.
They offer a good amount of classes with various start times. The work out equipment is up to par. However, one of the cardio machines I like to use has literally been out of order for almost 2 months. During busy times, it can get annoying because there are only 3 of that machine there. Also, the stand up tanning bed has had about 10 bulbs out or extremely dim for over a month.
If you want people to respect your business, you should show that you yourselves respect it and get things repaired when they are in need of it.
I really like going here, because I can take my 3 young boys and they always have fun in the kid's area while I work out. The #1 reason I go is because of the separate area for women to work out. When I go to the gym, I want to get fit and not be checked out the entire time by guys that hog the machines and grunt and groan like they're in labor. I like to focus on fitness and save the ogling for when I'm not working up a sweat and looking disheveled :) Seriously though, the price is decent and after trying out 3 gyms in the area, I like this one the best.
