The people who work there are the nicest people. They always guarantee the work they do and I never had a problem with them ever. I have been going there for years best place in town.
Honest shop that does everything mechanically for your car, including selling, installing and fixing tires.
Good honest shop fix what needs to fixed at a fair price.
First time I went here was great. This last time was terrible. Went for an oil change and brake job. They broke the door handle on my car, admitted to it and ordered a new one that also had to be painted when it came in. Had the car for nearly two weeks while this was happening. When it came in and they put it on, they tried to charge my husband $49.99 for parts and labor for it. When he said they were crazy, they told him never to come back. No worries there. Extremely unprofessional.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE (I wish I would have read the last few reviews before taking my vehicle there).
When we called to see how busy they were, they told us, IF WE DROPPED THE VEHICLE OFF, WE WOULD HAVE IT BACK BY THE END OF THE DAY (4 tires mounted, balanced, and aligned). If they had told us it wouldn't be done by the end of the day, we would have never considered dropping it off, BUT WE CALLED AND CHECKED FIRST. They waited until we got there and told us that it might not be done by the end of the day. The truth was, they didn't have time to work on the vehicle at all today and completely mislead us, instead of just telling us on the phone when we called ahead, that a different day and an earlier time would be better. When we showed up to get the car before they closed (because we unfortunately don't have the option to pick it up tomorrow), I politely tried to explain to the guy at the desk that it would have been nice if they would have told us to begin with that they didn't have time to even mount tires today. He argued it with me, was rude, and yelled at me, with the owner sitting there, and it was unnecessary. They treated me like I'm just a stupid woman who THINKS I'm right. I should be able to talk to them without being treated the way that I was. The experience was extremely unprofessional. I would never go back.
The last review makes me feel like we dodged a bullet by picking up the car before they worked on it anyway.
Great place. Repair was 50% less than quoted. Would recommend 100%.
Good folks great service and good price
I purchased a used VW Beetle and discovered the engine light had come on and that there was a small oil leak. My parents live in the area and they told me to bring the car to George's. Without hesitation, I drove it down there and let the mechanics asses the situation.
The garage told me that the engine light was on because of an Air sensor problem. They also told me they didn't even want to go near the engine leak because "its a foreign car". They wouldn't even attempt to look in to it.
When I went to pick up my car (because they couldn't fix the problem), they made me feel stupid and belittled me because I am a woman.
Telling me:
"Everyone thinks VW Beetles are "cute"..they aren't good cars.they have so many problemswe could fix your car but at then end of the day it's still going to be a VW Beetle" .. Basically treating me like I'm a woman who knows nothing about cars and that I'm some kind of moron.
When I went to the VW Garage in Ocala, the men there had told me the car was misdiagnosed. They also let me know that the write up from the George's wasn't correct.
In closing.. DONT GO TO THIS GARAGE. Save your money and put it
towards mechanics who know what they're doing.
**** IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS COMMENTS BELOW****
Yes there was misdiagnoses. You told me the the air sensor was causing the engine light to come on (this was false). The engine light was coming on because of a crack in the valve cover. There was ALSO a vacuum pump that was leaking oil.
You told me that you needed a "specialist" for a VW Beetle. The Beetle is relatively an easier car to work on as its not a Porsche or a Ferrari (that WOULD need a specialist).
Whom ever was attending the front desk on Thursday was rude. I never asked him his opinion on whether he thought the VW Beetle was a good car or not. In future I would tell him to work on his people skills.
Yes it is a unfortunate I'm having trouble with my VW Beetle. The good news is, is that it is all fixable by a garage that know what they're doing.
What is also unfortunate, is that you have incompetent rude mechanics working for you in your garage. and thats probably not fixable.
My husband purchased tires for his Dodge dually truck ,prices for the the tires were fair but the people that mounted the tires did a lousy job in lining the slots to each wheel . When my husband left the shop he notice his truck was riding ruff , could feel every bump on the road. When he got home to check the air pressure of the tires that's when he notice he couldn't check the air in the inner rear tires because the technician did not line up the slots on the wheels. My husband had to spend 2 hours taking off the outer wheels to align the slots to the inner wheels correctly and then found the psi were 68-92 psi should have been 65 psi per tire. When my husband called the store to mention what happen and spoke with Jimmy ,his response to my husband was "oh well we can't please everybody" , no opologies and my husband told him he could have return the truck to have them do it correctly but instead he did it himself and that was the response he got from Jimmy the service writer. My husband was not feeling well after doing all that labor by himself that night he suffers from heart problem and lower back pain. I feel that Jimmy should have been more professional than just not caring that his workers don't do the job right to begin with.
