Awesome customer service! The best game store around because of the selection and availability. My family and I will be back very soon!!
Best comic and game shop in the area. There's always something going on, they regularly run demos, to staff is great and always has a good suggestion if you need one.
nice spacious place set up for gaming. board games, cards, comics, miniatures except for warhammer are available. nice staff.
This is a really nice store. Great selection and very helpful employees. I appreciated that they let us inspect single cards for quality before we bought them. Will definitely shop here again!
I've shopped at a certain competitor in Iowa City before, and Geek City is a much nicer experience. The store is clean and bright, with great selection and customer service. My wife and I will definitely be back!
Great place. Friendly staff, fair prices, will order anything they don't have. Can't ask for more.
Great selection of board games. Friendly staff. The prices on board games are a bit high, even for a local store.
Incredible Game Store. RPG, Cards, Board Games, Miniatures.
Great place! Helpful staff and a huge variety of goods
Great people. Love FNM.
They have a good variety of comics and games. The staff is generally really helpful. Their reward program is also really nice if you tend to spend a lot of money on this type of thing.
If you're interested in magic, comics, board games, x-wing, even frisbee golf. Geek City is the place to go. The guys are awsome! Very very helpful! They by far have the best prices around!
One of the latest and greatest board and card game locale. Also up with many of the current runs of comics. Highly recommended for those who are looking to get or play some games.
I have lived in Coralville/Iowa City for awhile. I can tell you that the gaming stores around here fit into these three categories:
A) Unwelcoming/Unfriendly
B) Dark/Dank
C) Unimpressive
I had given up gaming at any of them until we stumbled upon Geek City. After playing a trial Pathfinders game at one of their tables (they were very welcoming and accommodating) we kept coming back. Since then I've become a regular of sorts.
They have a LARGE selection of tabletop games. From D&D - Ticket to Ride. They have a huge amount of games that are available to demo too. The staff is pretty ahead of the curve on what's good and fun to play, and the store is brightly lit so it's easy to read and play whatever game catches your interest.
They have a decent comic selection too, but not a lot of back issues or old comics. And, while it's not my cup of tea, they have a lot of Magic the Gathering stuff as well.
Wednesday nights are both Board Game and D&D nights. It's open to the public so you can just pop in and play, I have never felt unwelcome there and the other players are usually pretty friendly, the owners are pretty good about evicting people who don't play well with others or make people feel uncomfortable (but they're also fair about it!)
Prices are normal for a comic store, and they have a really awesome rewards system if you patron there enough.
It is seriously the best game store in town.
