Historical property on the national registry. Very comfortable lodging and entertaining music/concerts provided. Great place to visit. Most delightful people who run the center and wonderful folk who visit. Had a fabulous time.

A beautiful property and a great place to be a part of a music festival. I attended a music festival there and loved the atmosphere, and I also attended a wedding there, which was beautiful and well done by the staff of Garth Newel. I highly recommend visiting no matter the reason.

There's no reason to go to Garth Newel unless you love superb chamber music, fine food and drink, and people you kick yourself for not having met years ago. Garth Newel will become habit forming, and it's an addiction no twelve-step program could even begin to quell. Why should it? Go for a day or a weekend; our favorites are music holiday weekends where you arrive Friday for a concert, drinks, and dinner; then stay over, preferably in the Manor House that's part of the property; then on Saturday enjoy the sights and treats of the Warm Springs/Hot Springs area--the Jefferson baths, the Homestead resort, just breathing! And it's a bargain to boot. If Garth Newel isn't part of Heaven, I'm going to Hell (which many have already predicted).

The Garth Newel Music Center in Warm Springs, Virginia is a state of mind as much as a physical place. My wife and I have been going there for almost 20 years to listen to great chamber music performed by one of the finest piano quartets in America. In addition to fine musical performance, we go to renew the many friendships made there over the years, to enjoy excellently prepared post-concert dinners and to renew our spirits by communing with the beautiful Bath County landscape. The Center occupies what was once the estate of Christine Herter Kendall and her painter husband, William Kendall. Together they raised and trained Arabian horses on their Warm Springs estate. Today, the manor house in which they lived has been turned into accomodaions for overnight guests and the barn has become the concert hall. Once you visit Garth Newel, you will most certainly want to return to this magical, wonderful place.
