This a game empire the name is perfect. so many games comic books and gaming books, characters anything you can think of. the store also has great price so i'd rather come here then a huge franchised business. the staff were great at helping me out too
This is my favorite store in San Diego for Tabletop RPG supplies. They have had all of the obscure dice I've needed. Their miniature collection is the best I've seen in any store.I They great at keeping up with new games, too! Also, every Thursday, they host Dungeons and Dragons Adventure's League games that are a lot of fun. It's a great way to get introduced to RPGs. I always end up leaving with something!
Small game shop with the crowd of a large gaming community. They have everything from magic to wardhammer. All the latest games you can imagine. Weather your a beginner or been playing for years. They have something for all!! Come join us on Friday nights for MTG and board games.
Super helpful staff and way more selection than I would have expected. I've never been a board game person, but I left wanting to spend $300 and went in thinking I only would want to spend $20, maybe. Ended up with $57 worth of games.
Place has a really big selection whether you're new to games, want to buy a gift, or have to put together something for a Golden Demon contest. Staff knows everything about their inventory and won't hesitate to help you out. Large gaming area with snacks & drinks for purchase if you want a clean, well lit, & easily accessible place to play. They offer lessons, bulletin board, and various gaming formats (leagues, tournaments, contests, etc).
It was incredible, a must if you're into board games, war games, or Dungeons and Dragons! They even have some painting figures on display
Love these guys. The owners are obviously In love with the community and provide an amazing place to geek out and game
As someone that has done role playing gaming and miniature painting in the past, and am starting to get into newer board games like Pandemic and Eldritch Horror, I'm very impressed by Game Empire. I love the selections of all of the above, and when I'm ready, they have a "newbie night" (I think just for board games) Friday nights where you can learn new games, so you don't buy blind and find out you don't like the game, as well as connect with others that are starting to game.
Clean location, decent selection. My issue was with the staff.
It was cool and all, then a staff member jumped in and started talking about a few of the board games I was looking at. Instead of informing me about the games and questions, he started getting one sided on his opinions, and the longer I talked to him, the more one sided he got. Luckily there was a customer there who was an experienced gaming enthusiasts that stepped in to help.
So the two started helping me. Well, the employee didn't like what the other guy had to say because it wasn't the employee's oppinion and walked off. So the other guy was so much more helpful. He did not pressure which game, faction, ect was the best. He knew what was in the store and gave me the pros and cons of everything and not just, "their opinion what was the best". He was the redeeming factor for the store.
It felt like the customers there were more caring and friendly than the staff them selves.
The customer service is fantastic. I love coming here just to hang out with my fellow geeks.
Great selection of games & puzzles. Good staff that are willing to teach games, gaming area that is free.
This place was cool. You could get pieces if you play D&D in person. They had different types of puzzles. Game books if you want to learn.
My nieces, 8 and 11, can't seem to get along lately. So I decided I would get them a cooperative game. The staff knows their games from the inside out. They helped me pick a game ("Forbidden Island") and it turns out that my nieces love it. I couldn't be happier!
Probably one of the best places to buy games and play board games just north of downtown San Diego. They are always hosting gaming events during the week and weekend. The only thing that I would caution you is if you want to buy food or soft drinks while you are playing there, the prices are pretty jacked up. But it doesn't take away from the fact that I like everything else about this place to give it a 5 star.
