I REALLY wish I could do a higher rating because the servers were extremely nice and the ambiance was great! We sat by the fire and looked out on the lake and were so excited for the meal. Sadly we were disappointed. The fried chicken I ordered was super sweet, not representative of southern style chicken, and ultimately not done. The outside was overcooked and the inside slimy which indicated cooked too fast, which is crazy because it took a while to receive. My mom's steak was 48 bucks and the smallest cut I've ever seen. Plus again sweet! And my friend's lobster grilled cheese, she said, was "different". Judging how much she ate that meant bad. :-/

Plus it was a long walk. So do ask for a golf cart if you have seniors with you, which we did. Thankfully they provided one upon leaving. And valet was free, which is good because each of up paid 50 to 100 bucks for mediocre food.

Tip: stick to the burger and fish tacos. Simple, simple, simple and/or drinks and you should be fine.

I hate giving bad reviews, but I would be dishonest if I recommended this restaurant. I generally would rate the restaurant experience my wife and I had 3 stars (not horrible, but definitely not great). However, because Gaby's is located in such a high-end Ritz Carlton resort - 2 stars are appropriate.

My wife and I went here for dinner last night. We went early to beat the dinner crowd.

Half way through my Long Island Iced Tea, I noticed there was a bug (fruit fly, my best guess) cryogenically sealed inside an ice cube. Even though there were only 3 couples dining at the time, it took me a while to get the bartender's attention to have it replaced.

I ordered the fried chicken, thinking a Ritz Carton restaurant would be unique or better. Disappointed. The chicken was burnt. Any southern grandmother would have put this chicken recipe to shame. The whipped mash potatoes were soupy.

My wife ordered the lobster grilled cheese sandwich, which sounded enticing. She said it was "okay," but suspected imitation lobster was used.

This very bland experience cost us $95.00.

If this was a mom and pop lake place - I'd give it a 3/maybe 4. But - this isn't Ritz quality. Flies and yellow jackets were bothersome. No coasters, so every time I took a drink, glass sweat poured al over my shirt. Service was good, but not stellar. Calamari was just OK. I tried the lobster grilled cheese. It was interesting and unique but not a "wow." I had the brownie dessert - I've had better at a Dairy Queen. It is their poolside eatery - but with no other restaurant available without reservations - it was disappointing. If I were wet at the pool - I'd eat here again. If I were dry - I'd get my car and go somewhere else. My bill was $78.

Service was great and I loved the atmosphere. I had the calamari and loved it, not too much breading, not too greasy with a great dipping sauce. For my entre I had the pasta which I was fairly disappointed with, however my friend had the rib eye which was fantastic.
