It is a magical place. It fills and refreshes the spirit with, beauty and serenity. Ypu can get a great lunch or snack there and they gift shop is top notch. I especially love the sculpture park. It is amazing. They recently created a Japanese garden they is delightful. There is a wonderful children garden with activities.
I've been to Meijer gardens multiple times. It's a delight each time! Right now they have their "Christmas Around the World" exhibit. It's worth the trip just to see famous Grand Rapids buildings constructed as miniature displays. The displays are made entirely out of natural materials (leaves, twigs, etc.). The admission is reasonable but the member pass is the way to go. We plan on walking the park's trails in the spring & summer now that we have a membership.
We went right after Thanksgiving and really enjoyed ourselves. They have a great Christmas tree exhibit throughout the building, showing what traditional Christmas trees from different countries would look like.
The trains and model buildings were very neat as well.
Unfortunately we didn't get out to see the sculptures. We are planning to go back.
Beautiful place. Gardens are exceptional, the areas are clean, the service by employees is great. A good place for pictures, family walk and even dates. We saw a pair of newly weds taking their wedding pictures here. It also makes a great place for the reception on their private rooms. The Japanese garden is a must see as well as the tropical and dessert areas. During the summer they do a great concert series in the park stage.
This place was amazing. We were in the area and had a free morning. We intended to go for an hour, stayed over 4 and still didn't get to see it all. We will definitely come back the next time we are in the area. It was just beautiful and there was so much to see.
The sculptures are amazing and the landscaping was just beautiful. The variety of plant life felt endless.
I also want to say, we met a volunteer there that was tremendously knowledgeable and friendly and full of information and suggestions and one of the most helpful people I've EVER met. He made the whole complex feel warm and inviting and encouraged us to explore. He was awesome. As were all the volunteers we met there.
They have something for all ages and interests.
Highly recommend this place.
Always enjoy walking through the sculpture park. Really likes the summer concert series this summer. Wish they had a sign up about not bringing in glass bottles because we had to walk all the way back to the car and then get in line again.
Extremely well maintained and friendly staff. This is my favorite place to take Friends and family that like anything to do with the outdoors. If you like walking it’s perfect and you’ll get a good exercise. And if you’re not into walking they have a shuttle that can take you around to the different exhibits. This place is a must if you’re in the Grand Rapids area.
Absolutely beautiful garden to visit on anyday. It has many different unique sculptures. A great place for photos. I saw that there was a wedding here as well.
The garden is large; I spent a good 2-2.5 hrs here exploring every part of it. There was also a scheduled tram that you could pay for to take you around the garden with a commentary.
Beautiful grounds with ample facilities and an on-site restaurant. The admission fee was a little pricey, but the money is clearly put to good use. Lots of hands-on, fun activities for children, and an incredible variety of plant life in several different themed areas. The shade garden was especially appreciated on the day we visited, since it was sunny and mid-80s.
We love anytime we come here! There is so much to do for any age and it is beyond beautiful. We were blessed to get a family pass for Christmas and love using it any chance we get. Whether a quick trip to kill some time or an afternoon of fun, it never disappoints. Our 3 year old loves the tree house the most and I love the Japanese Garden ❤️
Great experience, lovely exhibits all around. I recently visited the Ai Wei Wei show. It was displayed beautifully and the staff were friendly and very informational. Fredrick Myer does a great job getting world renowned artist's work on display. I visit regularly and enjoy it every time. Fredrick Myer is a must see for the West Michigan area.
WOW WAS I UNDER PREPARED for what I met when i got here. We went expecting a botanical garden like many other cities we have visited. Then all a sudden we realized we were in for MUCH more! What a great time. absolutely stunning. Catches and carries your attention the entire time. My phone was out only to take pictures. What a great time.
Beautiful place to visit whether your into nature or not. Frederick meijer garden has many venues and that are of interest to many. We were in attendance for a tiara and bow tie fashion and it was just awesome. Never knew they hosted such events til I had the opportunity to become apart on it. Would I return? (ABSOLUTELY )
Love the Japanese Garden and all the sculpture. Very well kept up and always clean. Great place for a family trip. Especially during the spring when the Butterflies are Blooming exhibit is going on. But, you can find something to do during all seasons. It's a peaceful walk in the winter. The Japanese Garden is beautiful in any season.
This was an adventure for an unexpectedly warm weekend in February with my partner and their family. Coming in, an employee offered us 2 free student price tickets for my partner and me, evidence that the employees go above and beyond regarding customer service. No hindrance to the beauty of the sculpture gardens, the pond was still iced over in most places. Since the last time I've been here, a new pond and trail were instilled, and the garden just keeps improving every time. The gift shop was full of cute children's educational resources, pottery, and thick, comprehensive readings aimed towards the graduate level. There is something for everyone; make sure you remember to bring your camera.
