Best state park in the Panhandle. Quiet, and no partying. Spots are more accommodating to RV camping, but we tent camping here with a tarp underneath and sleep on an air mattress. Walking trails are nice, bathrooms are good for a state park, plus, you get access to Henderson State park the whole time you're staying at Rocky Bayou.
Good facilities and clean, but does not honor day pass from Henderson Beach State Park anymore. Ranger that started about 6 months ago has attitude and thinks he is right all the time. Still good place to go as long as he isn't around.
Beautiful park. Inexpensive. Shady. Lots of trails. Near enough to beach and good food. Free access to Henderson State Park
This is such a fun place to relax with the family. This state park offers easy hiking trails, fishing, boating, and camping. It is also a great place to canoe or kayak. The campsites and hiking trails are well maintained and the facilities are very clean. They also have a nice playground area for children and several shaded pavilions with grills for guests. It is a great place to spend the day (or even a few days) to unwind and enjoy nature.
Great park. Cost $5.00 for entrance fee ($10.00 for cars with more than 10 people). Playground for kids, beautiful views, areas for fishing, kayak & canoe rentals (fee, $20-$55, rates depend on # of people, 2 hours, 4 hours or more than 4 hours), boat launch, & camping. Campground has small to HUGE campsites. ♿ accessible sites, parking and restrooms. Nice Nature & Fitness trails, and small beach area (just for standing or fishing). Free paperback books at a couple of the restrooms. Alligators have been seen in park from time to time, FYI.
Beautiful park near Destin at a very reasonable price. Very large spots. We got #33 which overlooks the water. All spots are back in, 50 amp, water & electric. Dump station on site. Large heated & air conditioned bath house. GPS was wrong on the location but Google Maps is correct.
Friendly park ranger so helpful with giving me an overview of amenities. Stopped to enjoy my picnic lunch stayed several hours in the peaceful natural settings listening to the sound of waves, birds and dog walkers.
One of the best state park in FL. Since my grandparents started going back in the 80's. My family has attended this state park at least once a year. I have lots of childhood memories here.
We stay at this campground while working in Florida. It is a great place to bring your family camping. Most of the staff is very friendly. (One park ranger was very rude) Bama is a park host and she was very helpful to my husband and me our entire stay. The sites are very well maintained and the bathrooms are really clean. There is a place to wash your laundry ($2 to wash $2 to dry) and dishes which is very convenient. There is not a lot of traffic and it's very quiet (even on weekends) We will definitely be coming back to stay.
Peace and quite. a true restful campground. Best laid out sites I've ever seen. Some with sand for tenters, some with small gravel. Geo's on site. Fantastic boat launch and lots of parking for your car/truck and trailer.
Stayed at a few other state parks in the panhandle, but these folks were the friendliest. Short drive to Destin and 30a and a few bucks for the toll. Gonna stay the whole week next time.
Place is so well kept. Thank you.Geary for your hospitality and giving us a great stay camping. Much thanks to all the workers and volunteer s for the great work put into this park . Definitely recommend. Great camping sites. Very reasonably priced.
This is a great place to stay the night. We camped in a tent and the sandy lots were nice with a fire circle and a place to put a hammock. The bathrooms were very nice (heated) there are showers but I didn't check them out. There is also a washer and dryer and a sink to wash dishes in. The trails are nice for a little walk and the area is very pretty. We were able to buy a trash barrel full of fire wood for $10!
