I just read the review from Benjamin and the same thing happened to me. The school next door, I think it was called IBMC, told me that Fortis was going out of business and their landlord was going to kick them out of their buildings soon. Luckily I didn't believe the admissions person as it seemed like she just had a personal vendetta against Fortis and I ended up enrolling over a year ago and it has been great. I really love the faculty as they have been amazing and I have made the Dean's list 3 times now when in HS, I had never even gotten an A before. I am excited about my future and glad that I didn't listen to other people and just trusted my gut. Do yourself a favor, don't listen to lies from other schools and visit all schools your interested in and make a decision on what you think is right. You will be happy you did.
My daughter is at Fortis Institute in Erie and I'll tell you she loves it! It really was the best decision she/we have ever made. She loves the faculty and staff and everyone treats her with respect and dignity and I'll be honest, we almost didn't visit the school because the school next to them told us they were going out of business. I now know that they were just lying to us to convince us to go to their school. I'm glad we didn't listen to these lies (and quite frankly they should be ashamed of themselves) as we would 100% recommend the school to anyone and everyone who wants a better life for themselves.

The success of our students when they are on campus and the success of our graduates when they obtain that career is what makes me proud to say I work at Fortis Institute. We really CARE about our students and work hard everyday to ensure they are getting what they are putting into this school. Come check out our campus so you can start your future today!
As a 17 year instructor at Fortis Institue, Erie I can state that the faculty at Fortis,, are some of the best in the state. We care about our students and are willing to go the extra mile to help any student who is willing to respond in a like manner. Teaching is a 2 sided venture, as an instructor I must be qualified, professional, and willing to go the extra mile to assist all of my students in achieving their academic goals. As a student you must have the desire, the drive, and ability to achieve near perfect attendance and be willing to go the extra mile to assist the school and instructors in achieving your academic goals.
I'm in my 13th year of helping students and especially graduates obtain suitable employment in their new career path! It is so self-rewarding to help someone start "the first day of the rest of your life" and have received countless "Thank you" for helping them. If you want to change your career, your life, attend school but remember, you need to be there every day learning all you can so you will be able to get that new job! There are jobs out there, you just need the right training and tools to obtain it!
Terrible---very disappointing. Of the 26 student's that entered the LPN program with my daughter, 3 graduated. That is shameful. Very unprofessional, uncoordinated, sloppy program.
Update 6/29/17--Dysfunction goes straight to the top administrators at this institution. We meet with the President to have my daughter's concerns addressed, he seemed very concerned and compassionate and told her he would respond to her within a couple of weeks. After numerous phone calls and dropping by the school, we finally gave up. He never gave her a final response and on one occasion when she stopped in, he was completely clueless as to who she was or her issues. Stay far away from Fortis.
I wish I could do 0 stars. This school cheated not only myself, but my entire class out of a proper education. Nursing staff does not know what they are doing.
I loved the admissions office, everyone in the school is great! Excited to start school here!
I've been an instructor at Fortis for a little over a year. The other instructors, the administrators and students are great! We all work together. One think I noticed about Fortis is the personal attention and attitude the school gives to everyone. Not just students. When I started, I was told that instructors at the school need to reach out and care about every student. Students are not just a number. The school cares about them. And so do I. But it goes further than that. That caring extends out to fellow employees. I had to go into the hospital for a procedure, It was never a problem that I wouldn't be able to teach a term. My department head did what was necessary to make sure students were taken care of in my absence. And when I returned, I was welcomed back. Fortis is a great place to work, and great school to get an education.
10+ years teaching at Fortis in computer curriculums. It is very rewarding assisting students into the work force. One important fact, like everything in life, you get out what you put in. Our most successful students are students that have perfect or near perfect attendance and are here for a purpose. A good student attends class as though they are going to work. To all of our students, keep up the good work.
