Not all it's hyped up to be. Can get quickly overcrowded with people who don't actually read comics, but don't let that discourage you. The staff is very knowledgeable and there's an excellent selection of comics books and memorabilia. They also have a nice collection of rare B-movies, if that's your bag. Best times to visit are weekdays, before or after Comic-Con/Holiday season.
This place is wonderful Mecca for serious comic book and collectibles fans. It takes a mega city like NYC to support this uniquely fabulous mega comic store! I just couldn’t get over the immense size and quality of their inventory.
This was a really cool place. It was sort of crowded like shelves and stuff close together but there was so much cool stuff its not really a complaint. The people who helped us were super nice, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. I wish there was a place like this in Nashville.
Nice selection of comics and shirts, love the toys and other various collectables. But it gets low stars because the staff made me feel uncomfortable by following myself and my group of friends around the whole store like we were trying to steal. One guy got so close enough that when I backed up we bumped into each other.
This is one of the best places ever to go and get comic books. I would go here any day of the week. It has great outdoor display models like the Terminator sometimes both. It even has toys for sale models and Collector's Editions this is one of the best places ever to go and get, books I would go here any day of the week it has great outdoor display models like the Terminator sometimes. It even has toys for sale models and collectors edition and a vast majority of comic books.
Great collection of American comic books and quite some foreign ones too. Lots of board games and other comic book related gadgets. Cosy store with great atmosphere!
The best place in NYC. I had the most pleasurable experience here. The staff is excellent and everyone helped me to pack my stuff as i was to take it overseas. I SINCERELY RECOMMEND ALL AND EVERYONE who grew up reading comics to visit this store.I AM CERTAINLY COMING BACK FOR MORE.
I love this place. Everytime I'm at the Strand I make sure to stop in here as well. They have a wide range of merchandise and comics and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about what they do. Also their enamel pin game is strong.
They have tons of stuff, more novelties/toys than comics but they have a lot of those too. Prices were pretty good for NYC and the staff was friendly. Easy to get to since the Union Square 14th St station is only a block away.
We were happy to find a comic store in Ny when we visited. This was recommended to us by a family member when we were at dinner.
The place was decent. A very good selection of comics and other merchandise. Prices were average for this type of store.
Giving 3 stars because the staff was just..just..there. We needed help with a case and the guy acted like he had much better things to do then sell us the $18 item we wanted to buy.
The cashier barely spoke.
We did like the fabric bag we were given because it was kind of a souvenir itself.
Would we go back on our next trip to NY? Nah. Nothing that special here and the rude staff just topped that off.
I've come in twice in the last week and both times Matthew helped me out. Super friendly and knowledgeable guy. I'll definitely keep coming back.
I love this place more than any other large comic shop in NYC. They're like a small local shop in a big shop body. They are professional without sacrificing the chumminess.
Plus, they give you bag and board for free, instead of charging you like some other shops.
Great collection of American comic books and quite some foreign ones too. Lots of boarding games and other comic book related gadgets. Cosy store with great atmosphere!
I really love this place. It's not just the diverse selection of great comics, it's the welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Great for comic lovers, those invested in pop culture and people looking for gifts for that special nerd in their life. Worth checking out at least once even if you aren't a fan of comics.
Love this place. Board games. The latest comics. Wide graphic novel selection. T shirts. Toys. Lots of cool stuff. Very, very few back issues of comics, so don't expect that. But otherwise it's a lot of fun.
