Visit usually 2 times per month as we're from Battle Creek. Food and servers are top notch. Would give 5 stars if not for the pricey entrees. Easy to drop $80 plus for dinner, dessert and coffee for two. I'm sure alcohol will bump it up more.
Food Dance was a wonderful experience! The food was amazing and had wonderful presentation. The restaurant was really creatively set up and decorated. And the staff was very professional and nice. I would highly recommend!
They have a parking lot across the street designated for the restaurant.
Really great food, great choices especially for vegetarians. They even make their own ketchup and mustard, both quite delicious. Service was extremely knowledgeable, even recommending the proper method to reheat the Mac-n-Cheese, which shows a thorough knowledge of food and ingredients. Top it off with Michigan brewery options, and a huge hit. My caprese was a bit too oily for my taste, but still delicious. Fries were great, small shoestring the way my wife likes them. It was our first time as we don't go to Kalamazoo at all, but I'd be willing to return for this restaurant alone. Great job.
Interior decor is on point, whimsical and intriguing. Food is always good. Always. Wait staff are usually prompt and friendly, as well as knowledgeable about the food products they are serving. The dessert case it's die for. The meat and cheese selection is decent and there's a just a menagerie of little cool acoutrements for the larder in general. The food is fresh and a lot of it is locally sourced, which is pleasing. A bit on the pricey side if you're on a budget, but well worth the spending if you want a good dining experience!
Tonight was our first time we went to Food Dance but it certainly won't be our last. I got the creamy tomato soup and duck breast and my wife got the Bacon & blue burger with fries. The food was incredible; it tasted very fresh and was perfectly seasoned. The icing on the cake was the service we were provided. Our server, Cody, went above and beyond his duties as a server and make us feel very well taken care of; in the 5 years we have been married, he provided some of the best service ever. I hope he realized how much we appreciated the amazing job he did! A visit to Kalamazoo without dining here would be a sad one indeed! I highly recommend it.
My daughter and I went to Food Dance for lunch last Saturday. It was my first time there. The service was fantastic! Adam, our server was very attentive, as well as the other servers. Our glasses were kept full, and the dirty dishes didn't sit on the table long at all after we were finished with them. The food was delicious as well, but these days it's hard to find a restaurant that takes such good care of their customers. I would definitely recommend it.
This is a great place if you're looking for a high-end, fancy, restaurant that cooks great food. As with any high-end place, the food is more on the pricey side, but definitely worth it for that special occasion out.
Since I live very close to this restaurant, I have eaten here many times for birthdays, special family events, and having dinner with a large group of friends [which they did a great job accomidating]. Each time I go, the food is consistently well prepared and tastes delicious. They have a good selection of food for both breakfast and dinner [haven't been here for lunch], and you can never go wrong. Along with the main food on the menu, they also have a front area that's a deli and bakery. Here they sell various meats [ex. prosciutto] and baked goods [cupcakes. cakes, pastries, etc.]. Although I have never purchased any meat from Food Dance due to its price, I love getting dessert from them because it's always amazing. I personally love their large cupcake, however, all their desserts look delicious. Along with food they also have some cute cooking utensils and whatnot.
If you're looking for a fancy place to enjoy great food this is the place to go. Whether you're stopping by Kalamazoo, or need a fancy place to eat, there's something on the menu for everyone.
First visit and we'll definitely be back! The salmon dish my husband ordered was so delicious I could barely grab a taste before it was devoured! My Cobb Salad with steak was amazingly fresh and delicious but it's definitely something to share with the table.
My favorite place to eat in Kalamazoo. Service is always very good and I like how the interior is bright and well-lit. The proteins on the menu typically stay the same, but the preparation changes from time to time, and their fish specials have usually been good as well. They have a diverse enough menu that people with common dietary restrictions have more than one or two choices. Great drink menu, too. It does get busy on the weekends, so reservations recommended.
The food is amazing, and the service is excellent. My only complaint is that the chef on duty Saturday evening and I had a very different definition of 'rare'. My first steak came to me medium. I sent it back and got medium rare. Still not the rare I ordered, but the rest of my party had finished their meals and were deciding on dessert, so I kept it. Everything else was top notch.
I wish i liked this place - it's local and fresh produce. But most of the meals try too hard to be hip and new, or something like that. They don't just have Mac and cheese, it has to have tons of stuff in it, and the same is true with their French toast (nutella and bananas? ).
But if you like that, i bet you'd love this place.
Great food! You definitely get what you pay for. Portion sizes are fairly large. The roasted chickpeas for an appetizer are a must. The homemade salad dressings are light and refreshing. The bread and butter was delicious. I had the feature pasta and it was perfect. Definitely enough for two meals. My husband had the loaded macaroni and cheese and it tasted fresh and amazing.
