My family loves the Florida Museum of Natural History. While you can visit the permanent exhibits for free, the temporary exhibits and butterfly rainforest have an additional charge. We bought the family annual pass for $120 and have more than made up for the cost.

There is a newly remodeled play area that the kids really enjoy and lots of buttons to push for sounds and information. If you have never been here, I highly recommend it.

This is a world class natural history museum. A great exhibit on Florida's indigenous peoples, marine biology, butterflies, etc. Access to the museum is free; however, "specialty" exhibits have a cost (butterfly rainforest).

The hands on children's area is great. Kids will do well here and most areas of the mueseum.

It's ok. The exhibits are not very interactive for young children, and when they have special, short term exhibits, they charge quite a bit. You also have to pay for access to the butterfly garden. Permanent exhibits (except the butterfly garden) are free with a donation box in the front of the museum. For handicapped patrons, there is no need to worry about an accessible elevator since all public areas are on the ground floor.

All but two of the exhibits were free. There was so much information available about ancient and prehistoric Florida available. If you love museums this is a great place for you to visit. I consider it the Florida version of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC.

You must pay attention to where you are parking or you will end up with with a citation for 35 dollars Saw several cars with them on their windshields. parking for museums is way too small. Signs should say no museum parking and be bigger so people can see them. Cost is 4 dollars to park in museum parking lot. Rediculous if you ask me.. Way overpriced. I think they are making a killing on the citations. Take that money and make a proper parking lot..

We took our 2 boys, ages 8 and 12. We all enjoyed our experience and learned a lot of amazing things. The butterfly garden was beautiful and the frog exhibit was fascinating. Wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!

This is an amazing museum with awesome staff and a friendly environment. The traveling exhibits are always engaging and cool, and the events are always a blast. I have volunteered there for three summers and I have never had a negative review or experience.

Very nice museum. Spent about an hour and a half here but really needed more time to see everything. Learned a lot about Florida history that I didn't know and enjoyed seeing all of the cool prehistoric animals that once lived in the state. The special frog exhibit was really nice too. Definitely want to come back and spend more time here!

We enjoyed this museum. There was a lot of neat history to see and learn about! It is nice that there is something like this for people to visit for free! You can pay to go to the Butterfly house which was also nice as well as whatever exhibit they have, it was frogs when we went. Both were nice as well. My husband is military so he was able to see the frogs and butterfly for free which made those parts more affordable for us!
