Had my work Christmas party here the staff were great the beer was great. I would highly recommend this place for group get-togethers and just a night out.
Excellent burger and great beer. My only issue is there beer is so good, the beer I love has been sold out the last 2 out of 3 times I have been there. Going Plaid is the best!
Bottom line: cute place, fine beers, it's just not that memerable.
Everyone in our party got flights. Most of the beers were pretty good, with a dud or 2. The servers were knowledgeable enough. All in all, the place was fine, just lacking a little pizzaz.
Excellent food and good beer. Laid back atmosphere. I give it a solid 4.5 stars. Biggest complaint I have is that they don't serve dessert and they were out of the beers that sounded the most interesting
Our experience was less than mediocre. My wife and I went with another couple. The other woman sent her chicken salad back. Two leaves of romain with some shredded chicken on it. The waitress kept bringing the wrong dressing for my wife's salad. My potato wedge fries were way over done as were all our chips. They need to change or clean their fry oil. To top it off we were brought was was described to us by the manager as "the dog water bottle". It had mold around the rubber stopper. She was quick to explain that they only poured out of it. She did comp the salad and the fries and took 50% off the total, but it was just poor all the way around.
I've been coming to 50 west for several years now and have seen a steady decline in their beer quality. Makes it hard for me to want to continue coming here, and will probably stop at this point. Last beer I had was not defined as a sour, but was definitely sour (infected) and had a vomit note to it even. I have a tough time paying $6 for a beer that I can't enjoy when I know I can go to at least 10 other breweries in the area with much better beer (and sometimes for a lower price). Fortunately, the food quality has seemed fairly steady, and service is average, but that won't keep me coming back.
Beers were good. Food was good and quick to deliver. Atmosphere was nice. Didn't have anything I felt like I hadn't had before. That's no complaint as I've had a lot. Just would have given 5 if had been more unique. Definitely worth a stop.
At the time of this review the craft brew section was lacking if you want dark or Belgium style beer. They have a good selection of hoppy ales. Service was a little slow. The pours were good but the glasses were soaked from the over pour when served.I had to clean the glasses. Prices are slightly above average. Good music on the patio.Very dead for a Saturday night.
Food was excellent, beer taste was excelent, however the beer temp was warm. For me, this is the second time the beer temp was warm. I love this place but they need to do some quality control on the cooler.
I rate it 4/5 for the good selection of crafted beers and its somewhat quiet location. I noticed alot of the reviews pointed out bad service. It can be frustrating when there are only a few customers and your glass sits empty while the staff is right in front of you talking among themselves, but I find that similar at most small tap rooms around town. At least here they are not as condescending as Madtree crew. Plus, it is an added bonus that you don't have to deal with Hyde Park dbags! Good beer!
Great beer selections that regularly change and the food menu is wonderful! Try the shrimp and grits. Trust me Wow!
This place has a cool atmosphere to compliment the great beer! I didn't expect such an interesting menu with fresh and indulgent options. Can't wait to go back!
I recently visited 50 West. What a great experience! The atmosphere was cozy. The staff was very friendly. I tried the Cuban sandwich, which was very tasty. They have some of my favorite beers! I recommend this place for a casual dining experience or partying it up!
