Beautiful and historical. Cross should never be touched or tampered with.

The monument itself is an interesting history piece of the area. Other features of this location are a public boat launch, charcoal grills, picnic tables, and a porta-john. Nice little spot to have a picnic with the family and put a few fishing lines in the water. In the winter it is a popular parking area and access point for ice fisherman heading out to catch perch in the middle of the lake. You can also park facing the launch, walk about 50 feet out, and set tip-ups for northern pike. This is great if you have elderly, disabled or sick fishing buddies (or children) as they can sit in a warm vehicle and watch for flags.

The cross, which is located in a public park, is unconstitutional, as it is owned, supported and maintained using public tax dollars.
