By far, the best way to get across the lake. Todd & Nate are funny awesome people & bingo callers. The pizza is sooo cheesy and yummy. Crossing on the Badger with my family are some of my best memories.

If there was a nickname I could call the SS Badger, it would be the Old Reliable! Great ship and ferry! Good food also. Easy on and off with car. Have boarded from both sides and it was better then going around the highway way ruckus of Milwaukee and Chicago. Save your car the mileage and the mental fatigue of driving around the lake. Best 4 hours spent traveling!

The crew was pleasant and the trip was something different. However, the food options were very expensive for what you got. On the trip there the apple I purchased was moldy (I was able to obtain a refund when I brought it to their attention, but yuck.) Also, I had the gluten free burrito option which was a frozen burrito warmed in a microwave. Half of it was too hot to eat and the other half was ice cold. It's nice to offer these dietary options, but make sure your staff can properly cook them. Other then that the bingo was fun, it was nice enough to walk around and lounge outside which was nice, and the movie offerings we're really good!

Didn't feel like driving back to Wis at the end of our vacation. So we took the Badger and glad we did. We shaved close to 6 hours off our time and had a fun relaxing time as we did. They had lots of things going on during the trip including bingo which is what we did. We even won a few prizes. Maybe a little pricey, but it was easy on and off and a beautiful trip.

I took this ferry after a marathon drive to Wisconsin around the Chicago horn s week prior. No more driving, a voice whispered in my ear, and so it was.

The ferry was just fine. I fell asleep on the deck and got a sunburn. It was very peaceful and hassle free. The crew was friendly and accommodating. This is the second ferry I've driven my car on. The other was MS Chi-Cheemaun, and they both were similar experiences.

Easy on and off experience. Car was ready when we docked. Small state rooms, 2 twin sized beds. Very old ship! Definitely feels like the 1950's. Set your alarm a half hour before docking or you will be shocked awake by the hard banging on your hollow steel state room door.

A trip down memory lane. Taking the Badger is a unique experience. The ship is large and roomy with comfortable seats, deck and lounge chairs. The crossing takes about 4 hours and there is plenty to do aboard ship. The kids love it and it is a great way to beat the Chicago traffic if you are headed west from Michigan. Well worth the fare.

This was my first trip on the S.S.Badger, it was amazing and I had a blast. There was a ton of activities and things to do on-board. If you are worried about being sick or anything like that the S.S. Badger is very stable and you don't feel much if anything at all. The only time you feel much is when they are maneuvering around in port. I would suggest that if you want to go across the lake try the S.S. Badger you will enjoy the steam and have a great time.

this is an experience everyone should try at least once. i will do it again if i get the chance. the staff was friendly and helpful. it is and old steam ship, but that is what adds to the adventure.

Enjoyed the 4 hour cruise! Movies, bingo, food, drinks, museum, gift shop! Would have enjoyed more food on the menu.

The best on my bicycle tour round lake Michigan, June 2013.
This is an old coal fired steam ship. Modernized in terms of environment protection. In the past, the ash was put directly to the sea. Nowadays the ash is accumulated and put to shore in order for recycling.
It connects on Wisconsin side Manitowoc with Ludington on Michigan side.
On board there is a rather big restaurant.
Prices for this ferry are reasonable.
Friendly staff.
To enter the ship one has to pass a security check point.
Cars and trucks may use that ferry to cross the lake.
