Very dissatisfied with my stay. We arrived to find an infestation of gnats in our room and our friends room. We were given Lysol and fans to help us. No other help was offered. We managed to clean them out and enjoyed our first day. The bed was comfortable, and overall dated but not bad. The next day, staff came in and changed towels, but did nothing else. They didn't make the bed. They didn't empty waste baskets. They didn't clean coffee pot or update the cups, etc. When I brought it up to mgt, I was told they were gone and there was nothing she could do. Again, no satisfaction nor an offer to try and satisfy us. This place has a 5 star location, but 1 star staff. I'm ok with dated, but not lousy staff.
This lodge like motel is very unique. We had a great room with fridge and coffee maker nice bathrooms and the dam/ falls were right outside outdoor we loved the view and was within walking distance of fishtown and Leland too. A little pricey but for the area and the view well worth it. No breakfast provided but coffee in the rooms. Hair dryers are provided as well.
We had a suite from Falling Waters Lodge with a view of the canal and waterfall and it was wonderful. The town was small and friendly with lots to do and lots to see. The hotel had it's own private beach by lake Michigan and they would have fires on the beach. My wife and I went for our anniversary and would gladly go back. If you love seafood and fishing, this place is for you.
We have been enjoying falling waters lodge for 30 + years and I must say it is the best spot in the state of Michigan!! They have remodeled the rooms & they are now in a beautiful beach theme which definitely fits! Owners go out of their way to accommodate you. We have introduced our friends to this place & now they all are enjoying it. "Our home away from home"
You DO NOT stay here because of the accommodations (although they have been significantly improved in the past year). You stay here because it is the only lodge with under dam access to an incredible fishery and is a three minute walk to the beach. It's also four minutes from the heart of Fishtown. One of my favorite places on earth.
I stayed here last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location is incredible: super close to the beach, shops, and great food.
If you are looking for big city activities and night life, this isn't the place. But if you are looking for a get-away to beautiful northern Michigan for a peaceful and adventurous time, this is the place.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, room was clean (tough to do with all the sand my friends and I tracked in!), and view was great. I recommend staying here.
Beautiful location, super helpful and friendly staff, and cute rooms! Emily and Cooper have done a great job renovating and clearly have put a lot of time and love into this place. I am thrilled to have stayed here and can't wait to come back!!
We stayed at Falling Waters Lodge for the first time ever last weekend. We will be back. I don't know what the rooms looked like before, but we were the first ones to stay in a newly remodeled suite, and it was clean and nicely done. The view was amazing and the location was perfect. We were on the lower level and enjoyed our little deck in front of our room. The staff were amazing! It was easy to tell that they are working very hard to make Falling Waters Lodge everything it has the potential to be! Best wishes Cooper on making your dreams come true!
