John helped me determine the best tires for me. He helped me save some money too! Ordered themthey were there the next day:) Jackie did the work and was very pleasant to talk to and was very thorough as I had some additional work done. Bryan cashed me out explaining every charge and making sure I had no questions about the bill or services. Very professional business plus they get the job done quick. Highly recommend.

These gentlemen are the best!
They went above and beyond helping me with my car. I got 4 new tires, an alignment, oil change and a look over on everything else. I'm new to the area- they even told me about local places, the information just kept coming. Service was a 5 star and I will be taking my vehicle here always. A special thank you to Adam the manager, he was so kind, respectful and thoughtful. When I left, everyone was so pleasant and said goodbye. I used to go to 15th street and they were not friendly. Luckily, I moved to Northport so this location is my go to. They are always nice, honest about what you need, offer drinks, and save me $5 off when they can! I love this place and will not go anywhere else!

Very helpful staff, super friendly. I got $5 off of my oil chang service. I was offered me snacks, food, & water. Amazing experience. Will be recommending these guys, and returning for my next service!!!!!

Not sure how their price compares to other locations in the area, but I have to say I was treated so kindly there I had to come write a review. Greg walked me through everything he was doing and never pressured me to purchase anything extra. Just told what was right and wrong with my car and did his job with a smile.

Do not give this Express Oil location your business! I visited this location in Northport, AL last Saturday as I needed to get my a/c compressor replaced. I knew that was the issue because a few mechanics had inspected my car and told me this prior. When I arrived, they asked three different employees, including the manager, to inspect the car and find the issue, after I already told them what it was. Finally, the third guy (who wasn't even the manager) told me that he would have to charge me a fee of 42.50 to run a diagnostic. I said "But I thought diagnostics are usually free with services?" He said not in this case because the diag would require him to do a multitude of processes just to pinpoint the problem. :/ It sounded suspect to me, so I rode my squealing vehicle to the Express Oil on 15th Street, where they promptly inspected my car, told me it was the a/c pulley, and offered a low price to begin work that day. No added fees or shady behavior, and two days later, my baby is pumping icy air conditioner like nobody's business!
The bottom line is: do not go to the EO on Rice Mine, go to the one on 15th Street. Also, do not let a mechanic or any specialist pressure you into spending more money because of your lack of knowledge. Do your research.response / report this review -

Engineers, but one of them must've missed oil class.
Dropped off a Pontiac Vibe for an oil change. Had a technician walk out and ask me what I wanted. "I need a 4 quart 30 weight conventional oil change." At which point he brought me inside to take down my information and even made notes of my initial request. I pick the car up 2 hours later and pay, return home and notice the receipt had stated they used 5w-20 instead of 5w-30 like I had asked, and like the oil cap has in glaring yellow letters, and like the manufacturer recommends. So I immediately drive all the way back, find the tech and ask him about the issue. He states that the engine is a Toyota motor, and that Toyota's use 20 weight. He goes on to tell me "it'll be alright." The engine is in fact a 1.8L Toyota built 4cyl that comes from the factory in my Pontiac Vibe. Now, I worked at a quick lube for 8 years, and have changed more oil than you can possibly imagine, so for someone to say that "all Toyotas use 20 weight" is like saying "all cars use gasoline." The statement is wrong in so many ways, but I don't have the time.
What's the big deal if you run 20 weight instead of 30 weight you might ask. I'll tell you, and try to keep it brief. Viscosity is a liquids ability to resist flow. 20 weight is not thinner than 30 weight, but that statement is thrown around a lot because it is much easier to understand oil that way. a 5w-30 oil will have a better FILM STRENGTH (better protective qualities) than a 5w-20. Google "multigrade oils" to learn the rest.
He denied both my specific requests and the manufacturers recommendations, and for that he will no longer receive business. Besides, $39.14 for 3.9 quarts of conventional Valvoline is overpriced.response / report this review -

These guys are absolutely great! Amazingly helpful and kind. My car was leaking oil, and they totally fixed it and made sure I was good before they put me back on the road. I am so glad I went to them. I'll use them from now on for sure.
