If you go to a concert here you will have to stay in the seats. They have stopped concerts before because people crowded around the stage. The balcony areas seem a little sketchy if theres a bunch of people jumping at the same time. Theres also exams taken here, its not too bad since the seats are comfy.

Terrible acoustics. You can literally hear some minor reverberates in performances. If you have ever been to a nice theatre, concert hall or opera house and come here for a performance, you will miss the crisp, clean sound. Acoustics are still tolerable for musicals or rock concerts, but terrible for events like the concert given by St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, when you can clearly feel the unbalance from different parts of the orchestra. Just think about a piano concerto where you need to try hard to hear the sound of the piano.

We come here for the Christmas Show every year. Great place to watch a show. Not a great place to take a final like I had to do my freshman year of college, but that shouldn't take away from the facility.

The place for a night out on the (midsized midwest) city. Elliot Hall of Music has brought the biggest names to the cornfields for years. It continues to play along with all the Purdue bands, local orchestras, and 101.3 WBAA Radio. I was most recently here for Casting Crowns and despite being nearly at the back on the first floor was still blown away by the volume and energy on stage. Parking does get frantic on big performances so best to arrive early or go in the garage on Northwestern. The 6,005 seats do a good job and there's enough room all over for everyone. My only complaint is the distance to bathrooms and drinking fountains - awkward oversight for a place this grand. Elliot is probably the only roof in the world to look down on a bunch of college kids taking exams and Lady Gaga.

While Elliot Hall of Music serves as a great venue to host large audiences, the interior of the theatre continues to show its age with each passing year compared to other new local theatres like the Palladium in Carmel, IN. However, the site continues to host a plethora of exciting and interesting convocations.

Gorgeous theater that ranks as one of the nation's top venues. Larger than Radio City Music Hall. Home of Purdue convocations, booking a variety of internationally touring opera companies, musicals, symphonies, and modern music. WBAA radio is in the basement. Lot parking for events and a parking garage are both just two blocks away.
