GREAT FOR ELK VIEWING , VISITOR CENTER WAS CLEAN, PARKING WAS GOOD, VARIOUS ITEMS IN GIFT SHOP, EDUCATIONAL ROOM, VIDEO ROOM ABOUT THE ELK, CLEAN RESTROOMS GRAVEL WALKWAYS TO GO BACK TO THE FIELDS WHERE THE ELK COME TO, BEST TIME TO GO IS MIDDLE TO END OF SEPTEMBER. BED AND BREAKFAST AVERAGE AROUND FROM$100. TO $200./NIGHT. THE BENEZETT HOTEL IS IN BAD NEED OF REMODELING, ONE BATHROOM FOR AT LEAST 4 BEDROOMS. THE FOOD IN THE RESTAURANT IS GOOD.

An excellent place to view the elk while learning a thing or two about Pennsylvania's ecosystems.

Amenities include restrooms, vending machines, and a gift shop. Additionally, there are often workshops and educational presentations held here to inform the public at large about the efforts to preserve our parks and wildlife.

A great place to bring the kids for about an hour to an hour-and-a-half, but when the elk aren't grazing in the fields by the building there's not much other incentive to stay.

Beautifully arranged. There were hands on interactive stations. The employees were friendly, fun, and informative. Was fun for the adults as well as the kids. Restrooms are very clean.

My family visits each year. It can get a bit crowded along the trail. Some people wait here all day but your best chances to see elk are in early morning or at dusk. The elk bull calls are something you have to experience by being there. There is no substitute. If you want to go on a wagon ride, plan ahead and book a ticket. It sells out very quickly.

Love this place. Make a trip every year to see or sometimes not see the elk. 2017 trip was a bust. But 2016 we saw well over 70 plus. It all depends on the weather. We will be back next year. I think next year we'll stay a few nights. Love Elk County.

Interactive activities and plenty of information. You take your chances on actually seeing any live elk. Best time to go for live elk viewing is early-morning and around dusk. There are video screens to view them from indoors and walking paths to view them from outdoors. There is also another elk viewing area a little further up the road. The center had the smell of bathrooms and outside the portable toilets we're disgusting.

They had a short video of the history of the elk and info around the museum about them and a gift shop to top it off. Got to see 20-30 elk grazing in the field in the evening. They have wagons pulled by horses to go see the elk up close. Beautiful country!! Got to see a lot of God's handy work!!!

Very nice center and gift shop, and if you're lucky you might see some real elk! Go in the evening, at dusk, for your best chances.

Beautiful grounds. Seen Elk as soon as we walked up. The visitor's center was clean, accessible, and fun. My family enjoyed our time at the center.

Excellent museum and viewing areas, although have only seen the elk there once. But they cover such a wide range.Lots of other areas close by for viewing. Park personnel very friendly and helpful.

Very pretty area. Very large building with plenty of exhibits. Plenty of picnic tables and benches outside. Bathrooms are decent. Outside trails are well maintained. Overlooks are well taken care of. Parking can be a little difficult when it is busy.

We were told that it is busy first thing in the morning and right before it gets dark. So we went around 1:30pm. It was still busy. Saw 3 elk from one of the viewing areas but you have a much better chance of seeing a large amount of elk up close at many of the other viewing areas further up the road.

All in all it's just a clean place to enjoy the view, go to the bathroom, buy a souvenir and read a few of those signs that these places have with some generic information about the area on them. I think the best way to describe this place is "it's a good place to start your elk viewing trip".

Now pack up and head up to the other viewing areas and the back roads all around here to really see some elk!!

Beautiful! Kids loved the scale that showed them how they measure up to an elk. The books of the herd with names also amused them. They kept looking for their new friends when out viewing the herd. Very informative. Friendly, helpful staff. Coffee cart and food trucks are nice as well after hiking. Nice trails to wander and chances to see the majestic Elk.
