This place is an absolute joke. I called and was put on hold for 5 minutes, so I hang up and call back and their is no answer. So I call again three more times till finally someone answers and they tell me they are out of rice and are no longer taking orders even though they still didn't close for another hour and a half. Not once did someone apologize. I will never be back!!!
Love this location. Missed it since I've moved so far away. Was able to have lunch there today as I was in Hall County on business. My husband and I both miss it. Miss the salsa!
The chorizo chesse dip is the best thing I have ever tasted in my life. Their complimentary chips and salsa is also wonderful. The chips are always hot and crunch, and the salsa tastes fresh, with the right amount of spice. Service is great also. Fast and friendly.
Very bad never again. They leave a table full of food when when they closed. Very nasty restaurant leave food on table overnight multiple nights in a row
Has good food and good service, not too expensive
Salsa chunky with generous cilantro and a touch of lime. The Salsa spicy level varies with each visit. So it is a luck of the draw whether it will be fire hot, mild, or goldilocks. Chips thick. Food good. Menu is full compliment of South of the Border dishes. Tea, Southern style, sweet, taste brewed. Service for lunch is quick with lunch specials.
Carnitas where good, good service
Service was good, but the food was terrible. Everything was over salted. Guacamole tasted like it came from a bag. Tortillas were not handmade. The margaritas and daiquiris were premix and tasted like chemicals. Look for a different restaurant.
We have always been satisfied with El Sombrero. However, we (party of 5) were treated with complete disrespect tonight. I ordered a grilled chicken burrito and they delivered a steak burrito. I took about 3 bites before I realized it wasn't chicken. When I notified the waitor, he told me they would have to charge me for the replacement burrito because I "should have noticed as soon as it was delivered". He brought the manager, Olga (I believe was her name) who insisted that I waited until I ate almost all of the burrito before I told them about it. She eventually agreed to bring me another burrito. When I received the bill, she added the cost of another burrito. I addressed it again with them at the register where Olga and another very condescending young lady wanted to argue with me and try to make me feel as if I were trying to be dishonest. It's a shame that such a minor issue had to escalate into losing a customer. We spent $70 that night and typically go there at least once per week. If you want to know that you are appreciated, don't go to this El Sombrero, at least while Olga is on duty. My review doesn't come close to sharing the disgust that I feel after the horrible attitude these people had. AVOID.
Salsa tastes bad, not like it used to be years ago and the rice was like it had been reheated. This was my second try with them in a month. I can do better at home.
Texas fajita nachos was awesomely delicious. My family loved this place. We always come here on Thursday. "Taco Thursday" that's our family night out. Anyways, this place is great. It's pretty clean, nice ambiance. Friendly people. Food is fast. Service is great.
