Good food, cozy and not very noisy place - which is great for having a good conversation. Prices are very reasonable, too. In short: I’ll be back!
Had an office dinner celebration there. Very good food and drinks were superb! Everyone enjoyed it. It was a bit small for our group of 10 but we made it work. Would like to eat there again. Great for date!
A nice friendly place, food is ok
Visited El Chalan the last week in September during our visit to Washington. DC. The food was great and the staff were wonderful. Can't wait to go back the next time we visit DC!
Awesome food!! I highly recommend the traditional lomo saltado and parihuela (seafood soup). Absolutely delicious! Very impressed that they have been in buisness since 1975. Great job
So so good. We had the steak withe eggs and onions. It was a real steak. Great butter and bread. Friendly staff. Highly recommend for DC Lunch.
We came to this restaurant because we wanted great Peruvian cuisine. When we went inside, we asked if they served pollo a la brasa (the most known food in Peru), they didn't have it. I was disappointed because pollo a la brasa is at every Peruvian restaurant. Then, they told us if you wanted traditional Peruvian food, we should go to a different restaurant.
Small place and Peruvian food want to be! I have arroz chiclayana de pollo lol, under cook on top of that chicha morada ultra over priced, plus careless service, I won't come back again !
Good food. Terrible service. And there was an air vent dripping onto our table the whole time The server was rude when we informed him about an allergy.
Very nice. Friendly staff. Delicious meal. Good value.
Fabulous food! Wonderful spices and flavors. Service is helpful and fairly quick. I would definitely recommend and I would come back.
I have been to this place 3 times, and am obsessed with their food. Definitely one of the best restaurants in DC and surely the best amongst Peruvian restaurants as well.
Not impressed. Slow service. the food felt overly priced and seems that a soup kitchen would be classier.
Only reason it's not a 5 in my book is because I've only tried one dish (twice) and one time there was a bone in my shredded chicken. Other than that, I found the servers to be very polite and the ambiance to be festive. Absolutely delicious food. I love that it's a Peruvian place with excellent "stews". I crave the flavor combinations now.
