DO NOT GO TO EL CARBONAZO. I arrived with a friend to order to go foods and a couple of drinks to have at the restaurant. We got the menus and sat down, while we were going through the options, the waitress came to us to say that if we were ordering to go we should approach the counter and order from there (standing up of course). In other words, they kicked us out of the table because we were ordering to go.
1-the restaurant was practically empty there was no need to ask us to leave the table.
2-we were going to order food for 4 people, plus drinks. the restaurant would make good money

I heard the waitress talking to the hostess and the hostess said in Spanish "THEY ARE JUST SITTING IN THERE WITHOUT ORDERING NOTHING". I felt extremely offended and I left the place. Terrible customer service. DO NOT ASSUME YOUR CLIENT DOES NOT UNDERSTAND SPANISH, SPECIALLY OF YOUR TALKING BAD ABOUT THEM.

Been coming here regularly for many years now. Not the cleanest place but because they have giant bottles of their sauce, it makes up for the gross bathrooms. Women may want to think twice about using the restrooms here (if the men's room is indicative of the place).
Sardis is good, but they're so paltry with the sauce so I dont go there

Terrible!! Ordered a appetizer (choros) and took over 45 min and came out dead last after we completed our meal. They over salted the relleno. Tamale was dry and not edible. The waiter was rude. Two days after I check my bank statement and they over charged me 4 dollars more for they're tip! Upsetting because I tipped the waiter 20% even though I wasn't happy at all. Bathrooms are disgusting and not kept clean. Save time and money, go to Sardis down the street.

A mouse ran over my foot. I also had to wait an hour for my food to arrive, and the menu is very limited.

This place was a dream come true. I have been searching for an authentic Peruvian restaurant for a while. This exceeded my expectations and it is a beautiful family business with great food and an amazing setting. El Carbonazo is much better then other peruvian resturants this was an amazing experience.

I just came from Italy to visit my uncles and my cousins in Maryland and with them, we went here to eat a good Peruvian food. I ordered, like first dish, Papa a la Huancallina. It was delicious but my favorite plate keeps to be the Aji de Gallina that was so good. I recommend everybody to come here to try to believe :)

I have been eating at this restaurant once a week almost as long as I have been married to my Peruvian wife. I have always loved there food but on 2/9/2014 I went there with my wife, son, daughter and her friend. We ordered a tamale, 1/4 chicken, salchipapa, and Jalea. they weren't especially busy but it took a long time to get our food. They finally brought the chicken and salchipapa but the Tamale and Jalea were not brought out. My daughter and her friend were half done with there food when they finally brought my sons tamale but still no Jalea. After I asked about the Jalea they finally brought it over. It was cold and dry. I asked the waitress to come over and when I told her it was cold she asked me what she wanted her to do. I said take it back and bring me another. She told my wife in Spanish that she would ask the manager. Next thing you now we had the owner of the restaurant at our table telling my wife in Spanish that we always have problems with the food. Now in five years I have sent the food back 3 times because of various issues but I like there food so much I always came back. That will never happen again. For the owner to not respect their customer enough to not insult them is inexcusable. They are a terrible management and the food has gone down hill consistently in the past year. I will never bring my business there way again. She did not stop insulting me even as I was paying the bill to leave. Good luck if you choose to eat there.
