Free parking because it's remote, and what a climb!

Snowing yesterday, left an unblemished trail for a 1.5 km hike from Old Troy Rd to the Dublin Trail Head. This road way section is unplowed during the winter months. Fairly level hiking and doable without snow shoes in shallow snow cover. This Monadnock trail picks up where the Monadnock Sunapee Greenway continued northwards. Worth the two hours!

Great views for only a moderately difficult hike. Dublin trail has a small parking lot (with a porta-potty) and is not as busy as other Monadanock hiking trails.

Excellent trail, almost straight up! some steep sections and great views, wonderful mountain vegetation, and the pristine peace [and quiet] of semi-remote highlands *everything changes higher on the mountain* - excellent remote location, good for nature enthusiasts.
Somewhat busy but also rarely crowded. Well designated trail markers, easy to stay on trail. Dirt road access to a no-hassle parking lot, probably not as good on muddy days.
Unique uninhibited views of the north. Praise God

Great day hike, ok for kids and if you want a little extra challenge you have several trails to go up and down and still change the scenery.

Did a great sunset hike from here going up the Dublin Trail to the summit of Mt Monadnock and returning with headlamps after dark.

For navigating to the trail head parking, a cautionary note: Google Maps does not see Old Dublin Road as a through road, so it will not accurately route you the quickest way. Old Dublin Rd does in fact continue through to Old Troy Rd. It's a well maintained dirt road and, heading North, trailhead parking is on the left. For Navigation I dropped a pin at the end of the visible portion of Old Dublin on the map and once arriving there, I simply continued on. (9/2016)
