Do not get the top floor rooms. The air HVAC unit for the floor below is in a closet in your unit. It's loud, runs for 15 minutes every 2 minutes, and starts with a loud thunk. It wasn't just my unit. I asked the neighbors and they had the same problem. You have no control over it since it belongs to the downstairs unit. Staff was very helpful, but only so much they can do. Location of hotel is great, the amenities are nice, and great restaurant next door.

Uncompromising cancellation policy. Please take special note that this hotel requires 7 day advance cancellation. And they do not bend on their policy. Unlike every other hotel I've stayed in that have a typical 48 hour advance cancellation notice. My plans changed, I cancelled 1 day late and they refused to process a refund which is understandable, but they also refused to issue a credit for future use. This, despite almost certainty that the room was rebooked to someone else thus giving the Dove Creek Hotel a double fee on this room. Very unfair. Will not rebook here in the future.

Stayed at this hotel a few weeks after Hurricane Irma. The exterior had some damage & the hotel was in the process of cleaning & rebuilding. I arrived at 6:30 & luckily it was before 7 as the office closes at 7. Got to my room & had a good initial impression. Vivid tropical colors. Once I settled in, I was able to get a better perception of things.

PROS: Good water view, Nice vegetable based bath soaps, Comfortable bed, Shampoo & conditioner dispensers in shower, Restaurant next door open late.

CONS: Stains in the carpet, No desk chair, No electrical outlet on or near desk, Alarm clock on desk & not on nightstand, Poor shower flow. Cable television was not working (front desk told me after I checked in that it was being worked on)

I did let the hotel know about the shower before checking out. Not sure what they can do about the other stuff. I may stay here again, but will bring an extension cord & additional outlet if I do.

It was nice! The rooms are nice and when we were there, almost nobody else was. Never stepped foot in the pool, but it was about the same temperature as the Hot tub. There were a bunch of other things we didn't know were at the hotel: kayaks, paddle boats. There was a guy that rented jet skis for $100/hr.

The restaurant right next door (Snappers) is really tasty with live music you can sit and listen to from the swing in the gazebo.

There were a few maintenance things here and there that bugged me, but overall was nice.

Nothing fancy, but room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was, again, nothing fancy but good. Pool and sauna were old and the jets didn't work. Other than that, we were pleased with our stay. Definitely eat at Snappers right next door, it is delicious. And you can hear the restaurant's live music from the hotel, which was fun.

Really nice place. Very clean with great staff. Grounds beautifully mantained. Bedroom was a little crowded with the kingmattress but otherwise very good.

(1) Nice surroundings: it's waterfront, with a tiny beach. (2) My room is not big, but it's pretty nice and cozy. (3) I arrived at the lodge at 11pm and couldn't find my room. There was no sign telling me where my room was. Since the reception desk doesn't open after 5pm, I had to call their emergency number. The lady who took the call and helped me was very nice, but it still took me half an hour to find my room. It is pretty bad user experience at 11pm (4) Inside my room, there were 3 doors. 2 of them were locked, and 1 of the doors was connected to another room downstairs! And this door could only be locked outside (which means I am not able to lock it!!) It's pretty creepy..

The AC in the rooms is governed to go no lower than 75 degrees. If that is ok to you, then this is a nice and clean property. For me though, this is ridiculous given what you are paying for when staying here.

This location is beautiful, of course--it's in Key Largo, right on the water! The price is excellent, its very affordable. It's also really convenient. Right next to the hotel, you can rent paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, etc. You can also visit Snappers, a great little restaurant with three separate bars, each with their own personality.

Clean, spacious room with a comfy bed and screened-in front patio. Pool area has several chairs for lounging and two double hammocks. We took a complimentary double kayak out to explore the mangroves nearby. Great place! Check out Snappers next door for happy hour specials!
