I reserved two nights at this hotel for New Years mainly for it’s beautiful, king suite balcony lake view and it was impressive. Hotel was lovely, still beautifully decorated for Christmas. In house restaurant and bar, outdoor and in door pool & hot tub, gym facilities, small business center, out & in door banquet spaces, concierge, small convenience mart, vending/ice on each floor, in room coffee, mini fridge, microwave and luxe towels and toiletries. Big, clean room with separate sitting area, super comfy king bed, and contemporary decor . Our reservation came with free breakfast buffet, regularly $13 was my okay at best, lots of cereal, fresh fruit, bagels, hot options, juice and coffee selection but just average. Hostess sort of put us off by reminding us her tip was not included! Since we served our selves and refilling our drinks, what tip?? Also staff could take a refresher course in hospitality and customer service. Clerks were a bit rude and generally unhelpful. In my package I could add in some things and I I asked for two extra pillows and dozen chocolate covered strawberries only to find out, they didn’t know what I was talking about, they had no strawberries despite my email confirmation. We had a nice time, view was beautiful and room comfortable but service was lack lustre and for not “ budget” prices, I expected a little more

Great location, convenient to locate highways and business. Nice atmosphere with the hotel. Very large rooms with a separate living and sleeping area. Amenities were a touch sparse, but overall very satisfied with my stay!

Very nice, clean hotel in a picturesque setting. Room and barhroom was very clean. Bed linen was clean and I slept so good. Didn't hear any noises. Close to and easy access to eating places, mall and easy access to major highways.

This hotel is an excellent place to hold a wedding! As a professional wedding photographer, I appreciate the attention to detail by the groundskeeping staff so that the property looks great in my clients photos. The ceremony setup next to the pond behind the hotel is very pretty and the fountain and waterfall on the other side of the pond is a cool place to take couples and wedding party formal portraits.
Also, the year round event tent that is set up on the back patio is perfect for capturing wedding reception pic's because of the way that a flash bounces off of the ceiling of the tent.response / report this review -

On the whole the hotel is ok however I was put into a handicap accessible room without being ask or made aware which meant that a number of things were a bit off. The prominent of these was the shower which because of poor execution of the bathroom floor resulted in a number of small ponds after showering. The food from the restaurant was mediocre. The library meeting room to the right of the front desk was nice. As I was checking out a wedding party was assembling which seemed to cause great distress to the staff and some disruption to the other guests.

Very nice hotel. Would definitely recommend. Our suite was spacious and clean from what we could see. Just one thing to mention.Tony don't forget to have that talk with your cleaning staff about wiping down the TV remotes. I was amazed at the amount of dark black dirt I wiped off of them. It was truly disgusting considering they appeared to be clean to begin with. And another thing while I am venting.we just noticed after reading other reviews online that there is a lake out back with paddle boats and a path to walk around. I wish someone would have mentioned that to us when we checked in as we would have liked to check that out while we were there. Other than that keep up the good work DoubleTree and we will keep coming back!

One of my favorite places to stay. Just absolutely love it here! Here's a shot from my window. I wish I had taken more but you can see the paddle boats upside down. There was a hurricane coming. Normally they would be in the water for anyone to use.

I love this hotel. The rooms are beautiful, and I love how the inside pool has a swim tunnel to the outside pool. These walking path around the lake was great; and they had the breakfast buffet had a good balance of southern favourites (grits, biscuits& gravy, bacon) and healthy choices(fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs)

Rooms were clean and spacious. A/C unit was quick to cool the room. Free WiFi, with other amenities such as hair drier, iron, fridge, and microwave. Rooms have a pretty nice view of the near by lake depending on what side you're on. This isn't a knock on DoubleTree, but they could have been more explicit. We were told that breakfast was served by the bar in the mornings. When we went, we saw a buffet style setup and went to fix a plate and sit down. A server asked midway through the meal if we had vouchers for the meal or if we wanted a check. We didn't realize it wasn't a complimentary breakfast, that you see at some other establishments. Our fault for not paying complete attention, but something to remember when visiting.

It was the worst experience I've ever had at any hotel. I would have preferred staying at an EconoLodge or a roach motel. The rooms were dirty, the hotel had no water, and the staff was rude. We checked in around 6:30 after spending the day in the sun at the NC Zoo. We were told the water was down and would be back up at 7:30. We watched a movie and called the desk at 7:45, water will be up at 8. We changed to go get food and came back after 10. Still no water. Apparently they brought in some hack job plumber that was trying to fix everything with duct tape and PVC pipes that couldn't withstand the water pressure. So we get free vouchers for breakfast. Pretty good trade off for not being able to shower. It took longer to get ready than usual since only the sink had a small stream of water. We went to the lobby to get our free breakfast around 9:45. We were given attitude and told that breakfast was over at 9:30, but they would let us eat. I grabbed some coffee while my girlfriend sat at the table to wait for someone to take our order. Some lady came out, pointed at the back of the voucher, said it ended at 9:30, and walked away when I was walking back. So yeah. Awesome place Hilton. Glad I paid over $150 to stay at this place when I could have had a better experience at Motel 6.

Nice pool and hot tub. Great staff throughout my stay from airport pick up to drop off. Patrick, Eduardo and Star will help out, answer any questions and make it a great stay.

Although my visit was very brief, I enjoyed myself at the DoubleTree Suites. The location of the building and the room I was present in were both ideal matches for what I would consider to be convenient and very comfortable. Although I didn't have any experience with their services, I can say that the staff was very friendly and made me feel welcomed as a guest.

I love this hotel. It's a luxurious hotel, clean, friendly staff, great food and so many activities for persons of all ages. I will recommend this hotel to any and everyone. I told my brother and sister in law about it 2 weeks ago and they went this weekend for the first time and they loved it. Just so happens both our families were there and didn't know it until we got in the pool. I really enjoy this place and this is our summer pastime.
