Real family diner. Hot, homemade soup and sandwich, friendly conversation.

I go to this diner from time to time on Sunday afternoons with family. Double D Diner has an awesome salad bar, I'll give them that. I prefer the Downingtown Diner over this one though. The food just seems bland. It might just be the cook. The menus are very similar. I'm pretty sure both diners are owned by the same people. So I don't know what it is, but there's something about double d that just isn't for me which is why I took off one star.

Food was good, service was okay. For a busy Sunday I knew that there would be a slight wait. Took a moment to get a table, none of the servers wanted another big table,I heard them ask the hostess to seat us in another section. Been here before and everything was great. Would go back for the food but not on a Sunday.

On 10/3/2017 my boss bought lunch; chicken salad lunch special with Italian wedding soup. The chicken salad was GOD AWFUL!!!! Tasted old and smothered in mayo with vinegar. I called to complain, the waitress's response, was "what do you want me to do?" I would like a replacement. You will have to pick up and pay the difference. Never once was an apology offered, like I did something wrong by calling. I will NOT be ordering lunch, nor will I send my boss and his entourage EVER AGAIN!!! MONEY SPENDS ANYWHERE!!!! GOOD SERVICE IS A MUST!!!

This Diner is a star in the Movie "Lovely Bones" in the final scene where well I won't give away the ending, but

The food in the breakfast buffet was dry and tough, but the waitress did have them bring out fresh food and credited us for one buffet. I would recommend steering clear of the buffet. Staff was attentive and helpful.
