I’m giving this place 5 stars for a few reasons. No it’s not RTJ Trail nice or Ol Colony in Tuscaloosa. However we played December 18th and the greens were near flawless. On the few where there were dead spots, the pins were placed so that they did not come in to play unless you hit a bad shot. Tee boxes were not the greatest but it is hard to truly judge this time of year. The two bones are completely different worlds. The front I would say is much easier but challenging in that it makes you think about your club selection off at least one par 4 and one par 5. The back is much more challenging and scenic. Place your tee shots correctly and you’ll be sitting pretty but that is not easy. The par 5s are not easily hit in 2 unless you were to hit a perfect drive and 3wood/hybrid. The staff was very friendly and we even played the back twice. Although the facilities are not the nicest don’t be fooled, this course is a diamond in the rough. Booked on GolfNow for $25 with a cart. Would definitely recommend if you’re ever passing by on I-59. It’s about a 15 minute scenic drive off the interstate. By far one of the best values in the state.
PS: BYOB since the county is dry. Which in my opinion is always a plus.response / report this review -

Dogwood Hill is excellent shape with lots of grass on the fairways and the bent grass are smooth, spotless, and lush. Every hole is challenging and tees for all levels of play. Friendly staff and the food was very reasonably priced. Great fun.

Not bad. It's a little pricey for an average course. $42 for 18 and a cart on weekends.
