Honestly was a waste of time going to this museum. If your an art fanatic & love art beyond measure then it must be the place for you. But this place literally has walls painted black & white, fluorescent lights on walls and a pile of glass. Like I don't get it.. the Dali museum is much better.

This was a fun museum, mainly contemporary art. Just know that there are areas that aren't allowed to be photographed (Di Maria exhibit). But besides that, it was fun and interactive. There's three levels to the museum each floor with different themes. It's a big and open space so the artwork stands out much more. Be sure to check out the light artwork and "illusion mirrors" the perception of walking through them is totally mind blowing! It's good enough to go to this museum once, I don't think I'd make multiple trips back here. What's nice too is that it's near Main Street, bunch of restaurants, wineries, and great scenic views. A nice day trip!

Great museum with a ton of open space and natural light flooding in. The venue itself is a work of art! Lots of great modern art exhibits and installations. It's a short 7 minute walk from the beacon station and just a ten minute trek to main Street. Definitely a great spot to spend a few hours

Phenomenal collection of modern and contemporary art in a massive space. The light is incredible and really highlights the scale of some of the sculptures displayed. The minimalist feel of the space and art labeling makes for a unique museum experience.

Wonderful museum of contemporary art. Its location allows it to have really cavernous exhibition halls suitable for the installations.

A great day trip from Manhattan to the serene oasis that is Beacon. The grounds of the museum itself is already extremely picturesque. It's a 2-level sprawling space with a lot of interesting modern art. Give yourself a comfortable 2 to 2.5 hrs to take in everything and then go walk around Main Street! Must visit.

I really enjoy this museum. Exhibit areas are massive with high ceilings which makes for a great atmosphere to see artwork. High quality exhibits are always working their way through the museum. Worth the drive (or train ride). Easy walk from the train station to the museum.

It is in an old factory so it has a lot of open space. It is a very dynamic space that allows for a lot of different installations. They always have unique things that will push the boundaries of how you view art. I had a good and uplifting time when I went. Spend some time in the town of Beacon when you are done at Dia. Make sure you go in with an open mind. It is modern art so it may not always fit the conventions of what you consider art, but that is the beauty of it.

Other than the great getaway deal from NYC, the museum is a big breath of air after NYC museums. The store is relatively small and the museum is well organized and beautifully curated

I don't get the art inside the Dia! I love what they have done with the building and it is a fantastic art space, but I don't like most of the art inside. A pile of glass on the floor in the corner does speak to me. Multiple copies of the same Warhol silk screens, most made by his assistants doesn't speak to me. A white room filled with small rectangular white canvasses doesn't speak to me. I like the massive metal sculptures in the basement, but they are better seen outdoors at the nearby beautiful Storm King Art Center across the river. It is worth a visit here once to see the building and some of the more interesting pieces, but I feel a lot of the space is wasted on inferior art. I enjoy the outdoor space and the cafe, but have to laugh at what goes on inside.

One of my favorite places in the Hudson Valley. A lot of spectacular, large-scale modern sculpture (and some painting) in a perfectly-suited former industrial building. Some pieces on permanent display, but also enough on rotation to provide something new to look at each time you come. It's not always obvious how to get downstairs to the bottom levels from the main level, but be sure to find your way down, especially to the room full of very large Richard Serra sculptures. And spend some time walking around inside them.
