The Sarasota track is less than half the distance from me to travel, but they never offer stakes races, Derby Lane is a good track!
Nice and friendly staff, very clean. Just started working there. I enjoy it.
A bit old now. Table felt and chairs beat up. But is the local favorite for poker but wish it could get modernized just falling behind. Great staff and hosts they do great just need owners to modernize a bit.
I've been to one other dog park in West Virginia. This one ranks pretty high. It's one of the oldest tracks in the United States. Very historical very clean had a great time. But I don't understand why there wasn't many people there on a weekend evening for the races. I would think more people would come there and bring their kids it's very fun
Player beware. If you play poker, do not play here- unless you like having a completely different floor call depending on who you get. Nothing is uniform, and tournaments involving multiple bags are manipulated by groups of friends who dump to each other. Better places to play. Be warned.
A fun place to watch the dogs. Great food and drinks all at reasonable prices
Cheap and do not pay out like they take in on bonus pots and such. Go to the hard Rock B4 you go here it's only 20 minutes further
In my personal opinion dogs should never be used for business. They deserve to be in loving families. i hope the money the owner makes helps him sleep at night. I adopted a greyhound from the track and it has taken him awhile to get out of his shell.
Poker rooms are way too cold Its intentional, The Dealers dont mix the cards, a machine hidden under the tables does which I hate.
Betting on the races was fun and the food was pretty good. But the customer service was terrible. Maybe bc I'm from Texas and we have a lot of southern hospitality. But these people sucked! Specially the girl that sat behind the desk near the "poker" room. FYI save your money. It's not real Texas hold em
Always fun to go watch the dogs run. The restaurant on site is pretty good as well.
Derby Lane is a great way to spend an afternoon with friends and family. The buffet is nothing exotic but the quality of the items is outstanding.
More fun than you would expect. I don't gamble but I like to see the puppy dogs. Worried if it was humans but if you go up and see them before and after the race they are healthy and seem well loved. The food is also surprisingly good both at track level and at the buffet.
First time to the races for myself and my daughter and had a great time. My three year old loved seeing the dogs up close before the race and watching them race around the track. Plenty of seating on a Wednesday afternoon in both the sun and shade. Great service getting drinks and ice cream at the bar area as well.
I really enjoyed my time here the buffet was great and really enjoyed the selections. It would be even better if there was a desert station, just a small one. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. It was hard for me to find the placing of the dogs, it took me awhile to catch on.
