Best place to camp. The drive up is scary but worth it. There's only a couple spots up there and it takes a good 45 minutes to get up the mountain, so get there early. Weekends fill up. Also prepare beforehand to be warm and have water, it's a primitive site. The view is amazing, and wildlife is fun to watch.

This is the most beautiful place I have ever camped. I was the only camper there on a Monday night in June, just me and the deer. Scenery was amazing, both at the campsite and on the nearby trails. The ride up was not as bad as some reviews make it seem and well worth it.

Beautiful place but highly recommend to get there before sunset as you literally have to drive along a cliff to get to the campsite.

The road up is about 9 miles paved, 8 miles unpaved. It is a very windy road, but so beautiful, just be careful. You drive through the clouds that you eventually look down upon. Rivers of clouds and islands of mountaintops. It is SO quiet up there, you can hear yourself breathe. Absolutely worth the trek.

Great campground if you don't mind twisty dirt roads with cliffs. The park definitely earns it's name as there were deer everywhere! I showed up mid afternoon on a Saturday and easily found a drive up site with several more available. FYI no running water, pit toilets only.

Beautiful, quiet campground in the side of Blue Mt. Scary, but good dirt road up the Mt.
Ranger station and pit toilets. If sunny. There is a great view at the top of Rain shadow trail. Maps of campground and trails have mistakes.
Lively unafraid wildlife.

The road to this campsite is steep, narrow, windy, and unpaved. It's in good repair though, so just take it slow and you'll be fine.

The view from the top is spectacular. The elevation means that it will be very chilly, especially at night, so be prepared for that. The sites have nice firepits. Build a big fire to fight the cold when you are hanging around in camp. The deer and chipmunks are used to people so keep food locked up and never unattended. Be sure to keep your tent closed up tight for the same reason.

The viewpoint about the campsite is worth the drive and hike. Check it out! And speaking of hiking There are lots of trails to choose from using this as a starting point. All of them very full of elevation changes. Do your research ahead of time and enjoy a walk in the fresh alpine air.

Most beautiful place on the earth. Friendly ranger. Amazing sunset/rise. Animals are a bit used to humans though. Expect deer to come up to your camp. Road is a bit scary if there are others going to fast. Just take it slow and enjoy the view.
