Well stocked Market that could appeal to any taste. Great Meat and Fish counter with good selection and price. Excellent produce area. Vast array of prepared foods as well. Good sales available.

I was very upset today seeing a lady walk around the store with a puppy in her hands and then standing by the salad bar and no one was saying anything. The health dept would have made daveS market throw everything out on The salad bar and sterilize it. Yuck.

Good, clean, lots of fresh veggies & fruit. It can get crowded but that reflects the fact that it is good. Pour yourself a free cup of excellent coffee. My only disappointment is the fish and since this is New England I would expect it to be fresher and with a wider selection.

What amazing customer service. Call today about a transaction concern I had over a month ago. I had been working with my bank to rectify it. What an awesome experience I had with Irene. Very helpful and knowledgeable about this particular situation. I was able to get this situation handled and completed with out stress or concern. What my banking institution had been working on over the past month was handled within a 5min phone conversation with Irene. I will continue to travel in from my CT home to shop at this amazingly clean, well stocked and professionally staffed store.

Yea, I was really dissatisfied with the fish & chips tonight.
Things just didn't go right on this night.
As soon as I opened it , I could tell, someone burned the oil in the deep fryer to a very VERY dark brown.
They were probably either too scared or too ashamed to tell the boss , but they kept using it. And they must have turned the temperature too far down after that (thinking it was going to help), because you could literally see & feel how slippery & greasy it was.
Dave's was packed though, so I'm will to bet that they were so busy back there that they threw a lot of pieces in all at once. Because there was batter an inch thick in some places & none in others which says they dipped it the batter & just threw it in the oil without letting it drip off. And pieces were touching each other , not having enough room to cook.
The cooked batter should only be a slight shade darker than the oil itself. Which should always have a light golden look to it.
I tried a couple bites but it was basically uneatable for me. And others weren't to happy with it either.
What really bugged me though, was that Friday night, RT. 95 south was literally a parking lot so it took me over 45 minutes to get there.
I traveled 20 miles round trip just for Fish & chips that I raved about to a guest I had at home. Only because each time in the past,( probably 15 - 20 times in all ) , each & every time it really was the best.
But tonight I would have thought it was cooked by someone who worked at some greasy spoon like NewYork System or something, because they found nothing wrong with serving it that way.
That's the type of person who gives a good place like Dave's a bad rep. not reviews like this.
I'm hoping it was only someone in training & new to the work force with no experience, because I know Dave's , they "Normally" do strive for perfection there.

This place DEFINITELY IS NOT LIKE Stop & Shop, where you smell that stinky fishy smell 100 feet away from the seafood counter, or the rotten meat smell as you walk by the meat department.
Right when you walk through the front door you know it's a whole different place.

Tonight I may have had one of those "couple of" bad experiences in many years, but I do challenge you to find faults with Dave's.
I doubt you will.

My favorite market to shop at, only gripe is it is pricey. Their deli, hot bar, sushi bar and pizza grill are second to none. Food is fantastic and well worth the price. Best part is on Fridays you can order Fish & Chips, they give you 2 large pieces of fish, fries, coleslaw and tarter sauce all for $7.99!

Great place for picking up groceries and produce. Especially love their seafood section. Always get fresh stuff here. They have an organic food section too. A bit pricier than other super markets.
