Spent the weekend with our Scouts and Aidan’s pack. Park is well maintained. Bathroom facilities are new and well kept. We look forward to this trip every year!

Nice beach and nice trails around the bird sanctuary. Dogs are welcome every where. Not so happy with our site because the water didn't work and it was a holiday so the office was closed. Plus we left a day early, so 69.00 for one night with no water has left a sour taste in my mouth, but not their fault I suppose. Older camp ground but has a nice new bathroom/laundry room facility.

Wonderful place, quite and peaceful. Lots of stuff to do nearby. The beach is beautiful! Brand new facilities, top of the line! Can't wait to go back.

This is our second time to tent camp here & we love this place! They have a brand new bathhouse & laundry room/lounge. There is a screened in pavilion that has tables & chairs. There is a microwave, fridge, coffee pot, & bar sink for use. Also there is a small loaner library of books & puzzles. There is a path directly from the campground to the beach.

This is our favorite place to camp! Not only is it beautiful but is very peaceful! We always enjoy meeting other campers from other places. We come here about 3 or 4 times a year. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Horrible experience, Campground office only takes cash for certain items and has a certain minimum for card usage. Not up to date at all. There living in 1999

Great place for camping. You can do plenty of things all around the island. The ocean is a great place to go.

What you need to know about staying here: none of the sites have an actual beach view, but the ones located on the edge have very easy access to the beach. They do not offer refunds, even if you decide to leave early, which to me is like stealing your money ($25 a night), because the weather is unpredictable. (Not to mention so humid in June that sleeping in a tent is Miserable). Checked a week before, no chance of rain. Checked the day we got there, 30-40% chance, time to pray. The next morning, slowly started sprinkling, brought the hammock inside the tent. 20min later FLASH FLOOD CONDITIONS. We got 3 inches of rain in 45-60 minutes. NOT JOKING. Rain chances were then showing every day for the rest of the time we planned to be there, so we packed up our drenched tent, drove to Nashville and got a KOA primitive cabin & hung our poor tent out to dry. Much better destination.

Beach camping isn't cool on the Gulf of Mexico. Much too hot & humid, not to mention the sudden monsoons. Get a hotel is my advice.

Loved the laid back atmosphere and the "hands off" attitude of the management. They cared that you were taken care of but let you do your own thing, unlike many campground we've been on.
We tent camped and loved having electricity and water at every camp site.
The bathrooms/shower house could be cleaner but they are almost done with the new ones as of May 2017, so I can see why they have let the old ones go a bit.
Beach access is awesome and you feel like you own the coast line.

Great stay.we tent camped and had shade and a short walk to beach through bird sanctuary. Clean restrooms! Will be bringing family back for sure.

We've been here two days and I love the location. Close to beach, bird sanctuary, trails and estuarium. Lots of shade. Not fancy and the bath house needs renovating which I see is under construction now. Lots of campers stay here for the season and everyone is friendly. I would definitely come again and recommend it to friends.

Registered for the site the week prior. Was told to pick from 6 sites available for the next weekend. We picked the site and paid. Drove 1.5 hours the following weekend to camp. We were told our site was unavailable and they don't guarantee sites. YET THEY gave us a list to choose from, we chose, and we paid. We were so excited to get away to the island. Now it's 6pm and we are hunting a campground hopefully we don't have to just go home.

Had a great time. Hot as hades when we went but a great experience. The workers we a friendly and on it. A clean camp site a fare price and a brief walk to the beach.

Not a bad little campground if you're looking for something close to a dog friendly beach. Campsites are close together and the feral cats are loud and annoying, but there is free WiFi and free showers. The first night we were there we had issues sleeping due to loud neighbors and being so close to each other, but by Tuesday night it had cleared out and we had almost the entire tent area to ourselves. A lot of the campers seemed like they lived there, so if you're looking for a community atmosphere this place is perfect, if you're more into solitude this is not the place for you.
