Food and atmosphere were great but they had really greasy food. Those who don't want really should maybe visit somewhere else. The interior looked old and run down but it was nice and homey I would highly recommend this place though.
Cons: Kinda had a mildew odor.
Pros: Excellent tasting food. Best homemade-tasting mac and cheese I've had in my life. Made getting back on the freeway bearable.
From the road you see this metal pig that definitley has you wondering. You get there and it looks like a BBQ Joynt the only way I can describe the setting is if you were driving down a long desert road and finally find a place to stop. When you walk in you get that BBQ shack country feeling and you know the foods gonna be good. Then you get your food and you were wrong. It's not good. It is fantastic! Best ribs south of the Mississip! You won't be sorry for trying this place. Quality and quantity for your dollar.
Everything was delicious, waiter was extremely pleasant. Will go again. The atmosphere was laid back.
This place is a hole in the wall in a fringe area of Atlanta. They serve barbecue, and I believe both the menu and location are parts of the appeal. I will say the service was very good. It's always nice to see a friendly face when you are having a meal. We tried the sampler platter and the ribs were extremely tender. They also had some barbecue wraps that were interesting. I wish I could say the flavor was amazing, but it was just okay.
Made a visit based on all of the positive reviews. Became concerned when our server had to go ask the kitchen if they could prepare some of the Famous Que Wraps, nope they couldn't prepare their signature item? Then we tried for the sampler plate and nope they couldn't do that either. We had a Rib Plate and a Pulled Pork Plate. The meats weren't great, in fact the ribs were tough and hard to eat without a knife, and the pulled pork tasted like it was cooked days ago. The sauce didn't help. The baked beans tasted like they were right out of a can, the fried okra was over cooked and the coleslaw was blah. The sweet tea and corn bread were the highlights of the meal. I don't know how, with all the good que joints in Atlanta, that this one rates in the top 10 on most lists.
The food is amazing. The ribs fall off the bone. Mitch and I will most definitely recommend this place to as many people as possible. Of course, we will be back because the service is awesome and fast.
Could have been amazing but way too much butter! The pulled pork was some of the most tender I've ever had but it is served on toast they is dripping with butter. You couldn't even pick it up. The pork alone didn't have a great smokey taste but combined with the mild sauce it was awesome! I liked the ambiance definition of a dive but it fits. The staff was incredibly friendly and they did make sure everything came out okay. Getting a refill wasn't easy but we did eventually get it.
4 stars for the pork and sides.
This place is THE spot to go for local BBQ! Nothing like any of the others in the area. Literally everything is made here at the location from scratch. Portions are large, bigger than you are probably ready for (another aspect that you will not encounter at other restaurants). From the atmosphere, hospitality, and the food this place is the epitome of Atlanta BBQ.
This was so good! Came here with family and enjoyed it. I got the chicken tenders with the bbq sauce and fries it was delicious. You must go!!!
BBQ is really good as well as the sides. Cornbread has good texture and flavor. Generous helpings good value. Not the place for picky eaters.everything is piled on one paper plate juice and all. It is the daddy of hole in the wall greasy spoons but every time I go the food is great.
This place is awesome the food is always good and the service is given with a smile. The restaurant itself looks like your average mom and pop barbecue spot but this food is some of the best barbecue that I've tasted. When the waitress asks if you want Texas toast or cornbread. Do yourself a favor get the cornbread.
This is by far the closest to true soul food BBQ we've found. This is a must stop with great service and AMAZING food. Debbie helped us out and she was so sweet and attentive. As a family of four we tried the sweet tea, turkey, wings, pulled pork, Mac n cheese, collard greens, red beans and rice, candied yams, and the corn breadwords can't describe how awesome the food was! If you're in Atlanta searching for BBQ this place is a must stop! Thank you so much for the great food and service!!!
