Ate at Crabby Joe's last week. We stopped in about 8:30pm. I ordered the walleye and my wife ordered the perch. Have had fish and chips at many places and this was the worst. The fish was tough, almost like they nuked it. It looked and tasted like it was cooked in old cooking oil - that burned dark look. Priced $24.99 each plate. If you can't make it right or up to some type of standard, then please don't serve it. We've eaten here twice before without issue but I don't know anymore.

Food is good not great, but good. Prices are fair and outside deck view is great. NOW the service somewhere between bad and horrible. Had to ask for table setups, forgot to bring ordered items, and never checked to see if we needed anything. Seemed to me the server was more interested in the football games on the television than on the task at hand, providing service to customers. Sometimes you can forgive this if a place is packed, but when we were there my guess is there were only two, maybe three other tables getting food service. A real kicker is there were TWO servers working. As we departed the server came running out telling us we had to leave a signed copy on the table. We returned and pointed to the elusive copy laying on the table in plain sight !!

Wont go back. First visit and we were disappointed that we couldn't sit outside on the watertables for meals only, so we were stuck inside at the bar on a beautiful evening. My boyfriend paid the beer tab with a $20 (all he had in his wallet were $20s) and the bartender---after we could get her attention---insisted we gave her a $10, even showed us the bar receipt which had $10 posted to it (well you could POST $5 on the bar receipt and give us NO change back on a $20). So we got stiffed out of $10and were treated very indifferently. Guess you had to be a local or at least not a first timer-- to catch any friendliness. Just overall disappointing. Had a much better time at The Bait House in Port Clinton.

Situated right on the water beside Anchors Away marina, so there are views of boats coming into dock, including fishing charters, so it's fun to watch them come in with their catch. The semi-outdoor seating area has huge windows so you feel like you're outside while being undercover. However, you will get wet if a Lake Erie storm rolls in! Additional seating upstairs is fully open to the elements. Big bar inside with lots of seating. The food is good but the service is almost always lousy, whether it's busy or not. Prices are decent. If they'd improve the service, this place would become a favorite.

Hands down, worst restaurant experience in Ohio. Poor service, over-priced sub-par food, long waits: all the bad things. Our tab for 3 adults and 3 children came to $200 (one beer, 2 apps & entrees), server could not have been less attentive and the food was just ordinary at best. Avoid this place at all costs, Long John Silver's does better seafood than this

We ordered the chicken dinner with the artichoke sauce. The chicken was very tough almost like it was frozen since the ice age and then cooked in a microwave. We also had the walleye bites aappitizer. It was ok but the fish skins were still on the fish but this might be the norm. The prices were on the high side and quality on the low side. We will not eat there again. The waiter was good.

Clearly for the locals only, got the stare down walking in, even from some staff.

I really enjoyed this place. The steamer buckets are great. Kind of a old shack on the water, but that's what made it cool. Watched the marina put boats in the water and had ice cold beer. King Crab was great. Nothing fancy, but fun. I will go back. If you like fancy sit down places, it is not for you. But if you like old places with character, and good seafood, you will have a great time. We did. Had a party of 9 and had good service.

Don't go here alone. Better yet, just don't go here. I happened to be in the Catawba area on Thursday, 7/14. Having eaten here before with usually good experiences, I decided to try it again. But I was by myself. When I walked in, there were two couples together ahead of me. The bar tender was kind of also acting as hostess. She was so busy in conversation with the two couples that she totally ignored me, even though I was standing right in front of her. Never even glanced in my direction. When one of the wait staff finally came over to seat people, she walked right past me to the family behind me. When I said "hey", she said, "Oh, hi." All this after standing there for 15 minutes. Once I was seated, the girl who took care of me was somewhat friendlier, but the food wasn't worth the wait and being ignored. The side salad was pathetic. I don't know if it's under new management or ownership or new head chef, but it sure isn't the Crabby Joe's it used to be. Avoid it, there are a lot of other much better restaurants in the Catawba / Marblehead area. The only thing going for it is the view.
