If you want your loved one to sit in urine for hours on end while they take 3 hours to answer a call bell, this is the place for you! My mom had to go to the bathroom at 12:30 am one night and rang the call bell. They answered the call around 3:30 am. By that time, she had urinated on the bed and they let her sit in it without changing the bedsheets. Like, all night. My mother was in the rehab portion of this facility for weeks while healing from a broken neck. Every time I came in the place, there wasn't one person at the nursing desk. And no, I'm not exaggerating. The home health aide staff is just as you would expect, young people paid a low wage who are annoyed to do their jobs. Take a visit at any time on any day and you'll see dozens of call lights going off, with nobody attending to them. It's brighter than Circus Circus on the Vegas strip. I wouldn't put my dog in here. Of course, I like my dog. Let's just say I wouldn't put my worst enemy in this place. The doctors rarely visit patients, and when they do, they never deign to call you to communicate. Neither do the nurses. My mother (who was ambulatory and only needed assistance to get to the bathroom via a walker) was put on a bed pan in the middle of the night. They left her on it for over 2 hours while she had a ring the size of the hope diamond on her ass. She pressed the call bell for hours -- no response.

I've seen elderly dementia patients wandering the halls, being completely ignored, crying out for help. The nurses and god awful home health aide staff walk by with hearts as hard as boron nitride. I've seen patients fall out of their wheelchairs, while being completely unattended and ignored. My mother had a biliary bag, which they emptied whenever they damned well felt like it, which was usually when it was about the size of a yard of beer. In Germany. During Oktoberfest.

I'm trying to make this post humorous so you'll read it. Do not -- I repeat -- do not send your loved one to this facility.

We sent a family member to Rebecca Residence because we wanted the best care and we heard it had a great reputation. The facility is beautiful and clean. The nurse's aids are wonderful as well as the pt and ot. However, my sister has developed symptoms consistent with a UTI for over a week . We have requested a urine test for days and now my sister's condition is worsening. She is experiencing burning and frequency of urination ,chills, vomiting, a pungent odor upon urination and now red to brown coloration of the urine . They finally took a urine sample last night and it takes 24 to 48 hours for the result to come back from the lab They are aware that my sister has only one kidney and still dragged their feet testing for an infection !! At best she will be treated for a UTI on Sunday or it will be ruled out .Meanwhile she is so uncomfortable and sick I am so concerned for my sister and totally disgusted with the medical personnel at Rebecca Residence. I have called a few times for two days trying to reach the physician's assistant and each time I am told she is with a resident and will call me back. Still waiting . My question is what is the appropriate amount of time to diagnose and treat an illness of a resident ?
