It was my first time in there today and the worker behind the counter seen me standing at the wrong counter trying to place an order and wouldn't let me know that the orders were taken at a different counter, I had to ask and did not feel very welcomed. Sadly I do not think that is good customer service. Yes, I felt like an idiot for trying to order a five dollar COFFEE at the wrong counter but they could have keyed me in sooner instead of watching me stand there for ten minutes with menu in hand. This place reminds me of the house cafe in Dekalb, IL. Same hippy kind of vibe.
I walked out because of the service and and the price was a little steep for my taste.response / report this review -

$3 for medium coffee makes this possibly one of the most over priced cafes in Coles County. Medium cup of coffee $3. [Update: The coffee is not great, not strong and tastes watered down with little flavor. I can't speak to the pastries or fancy espresso drinks, but I can't imagine I'd risk more money on it.] Nice cozy room with a disinterested staff that cancels out the ambiance.

This place always has something new and delicious when i visit. The pastries are huge and amazing! The pumpkin donuts will change your life.
The drinks are always made properly and taste fine. The staff is already kind and courteous. The decor and atmosphere is so cool, i could stay there all day. I would probably do work there every night if i lived in town!response / report this review -

I sure wish this place had decent coffee, they have so much potential. I realize the vast majority of their patrons are likely used to McDonalds coffee, but no excuse if you're going to tout yourself as a specialty coffee house. My first question to the barista was if they can do a pour over. It was as if I asked her to solve a Calculus problem. Crickets. I then asked for a Cortado. Same crickets, just a little louder this time. I did walk her through the procedure for a respectable Cortado, although my expectations aren't high as I doubt they've calibrated their espresso machine in a long time, much less as it should be done every morning. Kinda wish they would change their name/designation to just a cafe, that way coffee snobs could keep on trucking down the road and not waste time. Oh well, I guess I'll stop at Free Press Coffee in Springfield in a couple of hours to get my good coffee fix.

Best coffee in town. The baristas are always friendly and make the perfect drink every time. Lots of unique and delicious cafe food items. From sandwiches to baked goods it's all good. Free Wi-Fi and a cool place to chill for a few hours.

The barista with the shorter reddish brown hair (I think her name is Jo?) is awesome! She makes the best drinks and always has positive vibes and is very polite(not to mention shes a fox).
I am dissappointed that the last 2 times I've been in there that they have been out of eggs for their breakfast sandwiches, but everything else is so good that I cant help but give it a 5 star rating. Especially if you get that pro barista Jo! She kills it.response / report this review -

I love this place because I almost never know what I want and the baristas help me figure out exactly what I'm in the mood for. Amazing customer service, great customer service and good, drinks, atmosphere, you can call ahead if you're in a hurry. Highly recommended.

I like coming here from the Amtrak station while I wait for my ride. There's just something about the room that makes me feel happy. The coffees are good, but a touch too sweet for my taste.

Good place to get coffee and a tasty treat. We have only had pastries, but the real food looked quite good. Staff was friendly and polite.
