Great school! The president and the student financial services department are crooks who will smile in your face while ripping you off!

I was a student here, but left after I was scammed.
Columbia is a good idea that is currently VERY poorly executed.
Many of the professors I encountered seemed to have chosen to "settle" teaching here because they could not make it in there respective professional areas or no longer had relevant skills. The base tuition is low compared to other schools in the area, but Columbia WILL NOT invest that money back into students. The Financial Aid department lost scholarship checks coming from my home community foundation and threatened to keep $7,250 in third party scholarships when I wanted to transfer out mid year. Expect that they will charge you for everything possible, especially in housing. My roommate was a dirty, drugged up, thief and I was not even allowed to move rooms.
Please don't put yourself through this situation! You can be creative for a lot less money at a school that actually cares about the health, wellness and success of their students. Columbia could improve tremendously when it starts seeing it's students as people instead of dollar signs.response / report this review -

I'm giving Columbia 3 stars mostly because I met a good group of people while attending. For what they charge, to me, Columbia isn't worth their price. All over their site and at events, they tote that all of their professors are currently working in their field. My two film professors hadn't made anything since their college days, and one of them was old enough to be my grandfather. Like a lot of other people have said, the departments have terrible communication skills and don't know what's happening in either department. The living spaces are nice, but are grossly expensive. I left after my first year because of the price, and wasn't sure exactly where I wanted to go. I felt like I learned something about film, more so with the hands on experience. The in class content though, I felt like I learned more at my community college back in my hometown. If you really want to go here, make sure you research. I'd personally advise you to look at a different school.

I love the school so much. I would want to go back to go and study for my masters program. One of the best libral art schools in Chicago. The Centre of excellence art school!! For what I studied , I couldn't ask for more. I could have studied something else in film, but, well never mind.

I graduated from Columbia, loved my classes and professors who also worked in their field. We were all very focused and motivated to succeed I was a media management student but worked with other students from film, TV, radio, marketing, music and others

Went here before knowing JESUS CHRIST(GOD THE CREATOR IN THE FLESH) in 2013 i gave my life to JESUS CHRIST, BEST DECISION EVERRRR!!!! i recommend a Christian School you will learn the real truth and about our Wonderful creator who loves us and died for us.
