Nice hotel BUT, if you’re staying more than one night, there’s no fridge or microwave. So no beer in the room and no bringing leftovers back from a restaurant.

The check-in experience was exceptional and professional. Envoi at the desk was welcoming and professional. Also met Archie horn Mackinac Island and had a nice chat with him as well.

In February 2017 we booked a SUITE at the Chippewa on the first day we found out when the GOP Convention was going to be at Mackinaw Island. We have always stayed at the Chippewa, except for last time, when we did not book early and we had to stay at another hotel. We were very disappointed when we had found out the Suite that we booked ended up just being a deluxe room. We immediately contacted the front desk and we received no relief. We were all very disappointed with the lack of help we received. We ended up with half of the room that we had initially booked in February. Then to add additional disappointment we had people that were sitting on the small walk way in front of the rooms drinking, eating and partying. They even had blocked our door to get in and out of our room with two chairs they were sitting in. We called the desk and we were told there was nothing they could do. This just added to the disappointment on how management and staff handles situations. It felt like, if I ignore the situation it will just go away. Is this place too busy to take situations like this seriously?

Easily my favorite hotel, anywhere in the world.
I got married on the patio last year, and came back for one night on our anniversary.
Getting married here? So awesome. We wanted casual for ~80 people and it was absolutely perfect. But beware: if you book September 18th you need to invite my wife and I; we have anniversary plans at the Chippewa indefinitely.
And as far as our anniversary? I almost cried when we showed up. The Chippewa moved us from a street view queen to a suite with a view of the harbor and the fort. The staff treated us like we got married on the grounds yesterday, not last year.
I've been in the high-end hospitality business for he last 15 years, and I aspire to mimic the Chippewa. There's a level of genuine hospitality that you can buy with 1000€ in Paris.

Great view of the harbor while we enjoyed our pre-dinner drinks. The service was great. The wait for our table was less than anticipated. The food was good, but the rum-punch (something the Pink Pony is known for) was fabulous.

We stopped in to grab a quick beverage and snack. We ordered Beer a mix drink and pretzels and flat bread. The food and mix drink made it to the table before the Beer. When asked. About it the waitress just said the bar is backed up. How hard is it to pull a tap handle and fill a glass. Not as hard as a mix drink I would think.

The breakfast food here is delicious. It is a little pricey, but well worth it. Our server was very friendly and professional. The view is spectacular (overlooking the harbor). 10/10 would recommend if you are visiting Mackinac Island.

Just ate dinner, but it was such an enjoyable experience that we came back for lunch the next day day. Great waterfront patio. Good food and an excellent selection at the bar. To top it off, the staff was very helpful and friendly.

The Chippewa Hotel was an overall great experience. Everything you wanted to do is right there with multiple bars on the main level and located on Main Street close to everything else as well. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast is amazing! The staff and porters were extremely friendly and helpful in getting luggage to and from the ferry socks. I would highly recommend staying at the Chippewa!

The double bed suite was nice and big. Nice thin screen TV. Beautiful blue quaint room. Had a problem with tub not holding water, called and got help very quickly. Bags brought over on the ferry and placed on room. Hotel did right along the water, however our room was on the street side. It was a little loud at night due to street bar noise.
