The food was fabulous and it was presented in an elegant and on-trend surrounding and with excellent service. We had a party of seven people and seemed to be in a constant state of someone in our group needing/wanting something. Our requests were handled quickly and with graceI applaud our server for making us feel special. Checkers is now on my Favorites list.

Enjoyed the Checkers Apple Salad and French Onion Soup on a rainy evening. Our server was very nice and the Pear Sorbet was a delicious way to end our meal! Thanks, Checkers!

Food was 5 Stars, ambience 5 stars but the service left a lot to be desired. I'll definitely be coming back because it was only my first time dining here, I just hope the service picks up a little our waitress just straight up ignored us for the first 15 minutes we were seated. Getting the bill was a whole other ordeal, 19 minutes from the time we asked for our check to when we got it. I would have understood if it were very busy but it wasn't especially for a Saturday night at 8 pm. We weren't in a hurry at all but when you're waiting for something and you see your waiter pass by our table multiple times servicing other tables it's frustrating.

Elegant dimly lit atmosphere. All of the staff were incredible. Like other reviews say, the duck tacos were amazing but get 7 because they're small. Small portions but delicious. Praline mousse was awesome

Fantastic cocktails and wines and great food. The interior was clean and felt upscale and trendy and the service was excellent as was both of our meals.
It seemed a little hard to find the location when using GPS as I was taking an Uber to meet a friend at Checkers. Once I got there, however, it was all worthwhile.response / report this review -

We had the most beautiful waiter I've ever seen. Seriously, he almost put my eye out with his magnificent chin.
That aside, what a delicious gem! The french onion soup was among the best I've ever had and their duck tacos were divine. If you're sharing the app, make sure you get the extra taco! Our marriage might have ended if not for the extra taco they brought out.
Also they made us feel very special! We were having a special night and they did our dessert to celebrate with us (oh yeah, that sherbert was good too).response / report this review -

The food here is exceptional. I have been 4 times. My favorite standard dish is the coffee cured filet. They also do rotating seasonal dishes. This past spring they had a fantastic swordfish dish. For an appetizer, the Peaking Duck Tacos are unbelievably good. Three come on a dish so if you are solitting them, you'll want to add on an extra!
They're cocktails are as great! My personal favorites are the Tall Dark and Stormy (ginger beer and dark rum) and the classic Lemon Drop complete with a sugar rim. They also make a killer Moscow Mule and if you like margaritas the Melon Margarita is a good pick.response / report this review -

My wife and I have been attending Checkers since 2014. It is our absolute favorite fine dining experience in Lancaster. What I think works best for us is that Checkers has a younger feel and atmosphere with all of the expectations of fine dining. Napkins are folded when you leave the table, extra silverware is presented when needed (without asking) by using a napkin to hold the silver so it is never touched by hands other than mine, Sonya always gives us recommendations that we trust, it is clear that the staff KNOWS the menu, we are never badgered by staff but always cared for, our reservation is always met without issue, and there has never once been a problem with our meal. The chef and his staff always have something new to try and they always deliver on their quality. Attached are photos of their duck liver pate, their swordfish special, and their classic coffee crusted filet mignon that my wife always gets.
