Chicago took care of the event. steaks don't need anything to explain perfection. You like steak go there and eat. Open oak pit BBQ forget it. Place is great. Nice wine list too. Robert Hall 2013 outta Pass Robles great meal, great cooks great staff
From the moment we walked into the restaurant, everything was wonderful! The food was amazing. We celebrated our ten year Anniversary there. Our waiter was so friendly and helpful. The manager stopped by to check on us and they decorated our dessert so beautifully. We highly recommend this restaurant. ❤️❤️❤️
So disappointed! Food was not bad, but also not great, and places where you pay half the price are just as good. Also, why is it upscale if everyone is in shorts and tropical shirts? We felt like we were overdressed wearing long sleeved buttoned shirt and slacks. If I had seen the review with the roach I NEVER would have gone here. Such a shame.
Fantastic service by our server, Miguel. Steak came out slightly under cooked from our medium preference however quickly and apologetically corrected by our sever and manager. Food tasted outstanding. Presentation A++. We will most certainly be back on our next visit to the Orlando area.
Roaches!
I cannot really comment on the food since we never made it to our table. While putting our name in, my boyfriend was eyeing the glass case filled with different steak selections. We noticed something crawling on the case and as we got closer, discovered it was a roach; a German cockroach. We informed the host and left immediately. I know this is Florida, "land of the bugs", but German cockroaches at an upscale restaurant? Gross.
The steak is the Porterhouse and Lobster for two that they have. My boyfriend and I split the meal, this was my half.
When you walk in it smells amazing, the wood grill is also beautiful. They do a steak presentation and bring out wrapped cuts of their raw meat to show you the cut and give an expl of each, very cool if you're not familiar. The steaks were done perfectly, very tender, not chewy. The sides are ordered a la carte however, we didn't order any due to the huge amount of food we ordered. The desserts, as with the steaks, are brought out as a presentation. They bring a platter with a piece of each of their desserts to show you, instead of just handing you menu. The cake was delicious to go along with the beautiful presentation. Moist, chocolate cake with a hint of orange.
Always the best! You might pay more but the food in phenomenal as always. The made a special order for my son during our Irma evacuation trip to Orlando. The chef made 2 meatballs and macaroni. The service is always the best!!! Very few places still provide such good service.
The place was really good, service was excellent, waitstaff was professional and very knowledgeable . Server Matt was experienced, extremely nice and polite(one of the best waiter we ever had). Food was incredibly tasty! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Charley’s Steak house is a sure bet on good food and even better service. Our server, Angeline, was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, yet warm and inviting. She was able to tell us about all the dishes and offer a wonderful description of the wines we were interested in. She was aware of all ingredients in the popular dishes and made appropriate suggestions for dietary limitations. We ordered lamb chops which were cooked to perfection. The side dishes are shareable and were also prepared well. The restaurant is nicely decorated with dimmed Tiffany lamps. They offer a full bar and a wide selection of whiskey. Dining at Charley’s was a special experience.
So it’s been 45 minutes and both my wife an I are nauseous. Where to begin? First off $75 a person to eat on a table with a paper cover so they don’t have to clean the linen is insane. The real issue was the food. I was so disgusted, by the meal and experience that it inspired me to write my first restaurant review ever, I am trying to save a life.
Steak: the rib eye, was ordered medium rare….. 30 minutes later it cam out well done. The waiter who’s name I believe was Orlando quickly took it back to the kitchen ( this review is not about him, he was a true professional, and should be given a raise for having to take horrible food like what was served to us today out to customers) anyways… the manger came over, and said they are getting another steak fired up, and it would be out shortly, in the mean time they tried to be nice and brought out a cup of soup which we did not want. ( allergy to sea food)
Steak 2: This was by far the worst piece of meat I have every had, ( rephrase…. Tasted,.. as It was not finished)…. Indeed it was rare this time, but the horrible Smokey flavor on it was just the beginning. The issue is that you could tell they took an ice cold steak straight on to the fire and the out side was burnt and the inside was ice cold. Anyways by that time, its had already been over 1 hr, 25 minutes, and we had had enough.
The $40 sea bass, which my wife tried to have, was over cooked, over Smokey, and just overall bad. Smoke on a sea bass.????
They took $25 off the bill…. We paid and left…. However now sitting back in our hotel sick and nauseous, not only do we feel sick, we also fell like we were ripped off.. way over priced for what they delivered. It is surprising to me how the have 4.1 stars on 170+ review. Over charging tourists, must be a great business, it would surprise me if the place makes it another year.
Best Filet Mignon I've ever had in a restaurant, no question. Orlando, our server, had a perfect balance of professionalism and casual, giving a premium level feel for service without feeling too uptight. He was also clearly quite passionate about the food, and we spoke in great detail about which cuts I will be trying on my future visits.
Great steak house though it is clear it is aimed at tourists. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We were seated quickly. I am unsure if there is a dress code. Some people were in shorts and flip flops while others were wearing at least a sport coat. I felt ok wearing khakis and a collared shirt. Personally, I prefer dinner to be a little dressier. They had a very nice ambiance.
The wine list was very good with many good wines by the glass. Bottle prices are a bit steep, bit this is what I expect near a tourist resort. My bourbon cocktail was good, though not great. I switched to wine and was not disappointed. I like good bourbon beverages, and few places meet my standards anyway.
The food was very good. They offer great cuts of meat. My lobster was only so so, but I generally do not order that unless I'm in the Northeast. It left much to be desired as it was chewy. My steak was a perfect medium rare and full of flavor. Over all, I enjoyed my meal. The seafood I had was not that impressive, and the prices were a little high for the entrees. I would eat here again.
Absolutely awful! My last experience with Charley's was awful and my most recent this past week was as well. Very mediocre steak, extremely tough and fatty. Definitely not a top 10 steak house in my opinion. I've had way better steaks at non-steak houses. Even the calamari and mashed potatoes were mediocre too. It was my boyfriend's first time at the restaurant and he isn't picky but the first thing he said when we left was that the food was terrible.
Every time I come here, I'm scared that the quality of product or service will go down. Apparently , this will not be happening any time soon. Jay was our waiter. He was awesome! Not to mention, the other waiters who helped out also were phenomenal. I come here every time I travel to the Orlando area. I don't think I will ever be disappointed. This is where you go for a steak. Everybody else is playing for second. Good job, Charley's!
Very mouth watering food. Most delicious food I have ever consumed. Very friendly and helpful service. I really enjoyed the experience. I will definitely recommend this to everyone. Can I say delicious enough?
