Generally a good hotel. There were a few aspects that I were disappointing. On arrival to the hotel after a very long journey I was told there was no booking and I hadn’t paid. After 30 minutes and paying the full amount again I finally was given a room. There were no key cards for the first day so annoying we had to be escorted up to our rooms each time. Building works on the hotel were also another issue. I was woken up regularly on each day around 7/8am from builders walking up above. I think it can be an amazing hotel but these aspects were really disappointing.

    Great location.
Rooms are very dated and smell so musty. Had to clean out the a/c filter.
As for the 'city's most glamourous rooftop' from their ad, it was pretty bad. Ripped cushions, floor paint all over the furniture, bar not open, room service orders never cleaned up. And how is there so much rust in a place like LA?

Very disappointed in my stay at the overpriced Chamberlain West Hollywood. I wanted somewhere special for my first night in LA and thought a boutique hotel would be a good way to go, so I splurged with credit card points and booked it.

The lobby and rooms are badly-lit, with low ceilings and a persistently damp smell. The room also has an almost-invisible step in the middle of it that I tripped over in the middle of the night. The breakfast area is depressing and the food generic.

Whatever you pay for this hotel, it will be too much, especially because you'll have to add $20 for a mandatory "amenity charge" and $42 for parking.

Whilst the staff were universally polite and pleasant to deal with the hotel itself is very tired. We paid a premium for the promise of "spectacular city views" per the website and were given a room on level 2 looking at a tree and a building across the road. When I asked I was told no rooms had city views. Terrible false advertising.

Our toilet didn't flush properly about 60% of the time which was disgusting. The lamps we're very temperamental.

Shower was great, bed was very comfortable.

The entire floor and our room smelled very musty and unpleasant. We were charged for mini bar we didn't use.

Overall pretty disappointed with our experience.

Valet was absolutely amazing. I was in and out a lot within my first few hours of checking in and they were incredibly helpful with making sure I got out at good times and didn't hit traffic for where I mentioned I was going. A room change was also involved and they got my things moved to the right place before I even got there. The main setback for my stay being amazing was that my original room (a king suite) had bugs. The woman who helped me at the desk kind of laughed a bit when I came down right after checking in to tell her because I'd started out with the spider in my bathroom and then took me seriously when I showed her the picture of the other critter that came with what seemed to be over 12 legs (according to some web searches, it ate spiders which explains the presence of both it and the spiders). The balcony was touched by quite a few trees so I'm guessing everything must've gotten in while the room was being cleaned and fumes aired out before my arrival. I was moved to a second room that was a bit smaller but that wasn't explained so I'm not sure if the same version of the room I had was completely booked or what. I didn't bother asking because I didn't see my new room until I was back from picking up the friend staying with me at the airport and by then it was late and it didn't seem worth it to question. Aside from the second room being smaller, there was also really low lighting in the bathroom due to one light being completely out and another about to die. Also when I checked out, a different woman told me about a fee the first hadn't ever mentioned. Thankfully she waived it after I explained she must have forgotten about the fee while dealing with the bug situation, but the only staff that remained completely pleasant and helpful had to be valet. While all experiences at the desk ended with the reasons I was there getting done, they weren't as courteous as other staff. In no way did I expect them to be too friendly or even enthusiastic, but in the bug situation as well as the hidden fee at checkout, their attitudes made me feel that I was in the wrong for saying something. The rooms' wall unit A/Cs are at the top of the wall instead of down low like most hotels so being less than what most would consider tall, a chair is required to adjust it to higher than below freezing. Other than that, it was a beautiful hotel. I wish I'd had more time to spend at the pool because it has a great view of the city.

Me and my fiance had a amazing stay. The staff was so friendly and assisted us with all of our needs during our stay. The agent Ana who assisted us went over and beyond. She helped us find activities during our stay, booked reservations at one of the finest restaurants in the city, and even upgraded our room to help us celebrate our anniversary. Not to mention we had to check-in early. I called prior to arrival though they could not guarantee early check-in the staff was able to accommodate. The roof top pool had a beautiful view and the bartender Steve gave us great tips on the nightlife in the area and was very helpful. I loved the open patio in the restaurant. Breakfast was very good as well. Even the valet was very prompt with bringing our car when needed. Housekeeping did a great job as well! Working in hospitality as well I know great service. This Clevelander has found her second home in West Hollywood. Thanks so much for the great service!!

I love the chamberlain! The customer service is great. Especially loved Ricardo at valet. He works the night shift and coming in late from work he was always made me feel welcome and greeted me with a smile! The housekeeping is also awesome. So impressed.

The only reason I am giving this a 4 and not a 5 is because we booked a Penthouse Suite and when we arrived they told us that the top floor was being renovated and moved us down a floor
The suite was still great, but it was very dark as the trees in the street were at the same level as the balcony and windows
We are actually going back in October so I look forward to getting to review the room we actually booked last time the fact that we're going back tells you that this place is great - not like those dull beige chain hotels .. staff here are great, and it's a 5 min stroll from the Abby (if you feel like staring at roided up bored go-go boys)

If you like chains, then stay at the Marriott. This hotel is special and made our stay spectacular. My daughter and I came to celebrate her 21st Birthday and we couldn't have been more pleased. The room was beautiful and had such a cool "boutique" vibe. We loved the rooftop pool and view. The quick walk down the hill to grab a coffee or quick bite to eat made this location perfect. I will definitely stay at The Chamberlain again!

The place and environment are really nice, and the room is also very huge. I had a really good sleep because the bed is comfortable. Nice stay in this hotel. One thing that the hotel should improve is the smell in the hallway.

Lovely, spacious room with great furnishings and private balcony. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Location was very convenient. Food was lackluster but I only had breakfast. I very much enjoyed my mornings spent by the pool, as afternoon/evenings were a bit too raucous for my taste.
Only complaint was that my room was right below the pool deck and the noise did carry a bit.
All in all, a very nice experience.

The service was very awesome. I thought the hotel was affordable, especially for the location and room size. I would suggest some type of air freshener in the hallways and rooms, they smelled a little funky but we left our patio door open which helped. Bathrooms and rooms look very nice and updated, the balcony and fire place are an added bonus! All around I would definitely stay again, It's not often you find such friendly and accommodating people these days, very refreshing.
