I brought my boyfriend's dog here and he never had any problems until the last 2 times we took him. One time we brought him home he got sick and had diarrhea but the last time, he has a weird yeast thing happening with the fur in his neck. It was awful. That was the last time we took him. I am too scared to ever take our new puppy or my boyfriend's dog back.
I was overcharged for extra exercise for one of my two dogs when they were boarded a Saturday overnight there and was not sent home with the treats I had brought for them when I picked them up. I was told that they keep the treat bags and do NOT send them back home with the owners to try to keep the owners from bringing treats for their pets in the future. Or..you could have just told me not to bring any treats to begin with. When I drove back there to get the treat bag back I was told they were all thrown into a pile and she didn't know which ones were mine anymore and I wound up taking home a smaller bag of someone else's treats. So what do you do with the treat bags then?? You obviously don't give them to the pets that are boarded there and you certainly don't give them back to the owners when they pick their pets back up, so the staff gets to keep them then? Isn't that stealing? I gave two stars because the staff was friendly and nice and they did fix the overcharge but I will not be bringing my pets back here ever again!
They SHOULD GET A (0) STAR!!
The neglectful groomers damaged my dog's eye by cutting all his eyelashes off. One eye is red swollen bulging out. I let it go when one time he came back with a clippers cut, but damage his Eye means a huge vet bill for me. My dog is a Bichon Frise and has to have haircuts.
Our dogs leave Cedar Creek happy. That's what matters to us.
Appalled by how a manager decides to retaliate to a former employee's life choice to continue elsewhere.
nice place, professional staff, got our dog back in good shape
We have been using this boarding kennel for years! We have boarded our cats as well as our dogs and we have always had a positive experience. Staff is always helpful and curteous. Our dogs are always clean and groomed as we requested when we pick them up. You can request twice daily playtimes and I always bring their own food and sometimes a toy. My dogs are sometimes hoarse when I pick them up, but in this type of situation when they are boarded with other dogs, they are going to bark. It is what dogs do. If there has been any issues with my dogs, the staff is sure to let me know at pick up or by a phone call. I have used other kennels in the area and in the northwoods and this is by far the best. We now drive 4 hours (usually on the way to MKE airport) to drop them off!
Never! Ever! Ever! Again! I am in shock at the condition of my dog! This was my first (and last) time taking her there (emergency situation). She was left for two nights, 48 hours. When I picked her up I asked the women at the counter how she did. One said, "She did fineI guess." When my eyebrows shot up, the other replied, "We didn't read her card. Neither of us were here yesterday." They got my dog from the supposed "TLC" area, which was supposed to have been downstairs - except that she was right behind the main door in the tiniest of kennels, not in the TLC area. The woman handed me her dog bed, saying they had to wash it because she was "messy." "What do you mean by messy?" I asked. "You know, sometimes they spill their food on their beds." No, no I don't. Her dog bed was one giant lump and utterly destroyed from whatever they did to it. Because they refuse to give back any unused dog food it is impossible to tell how well your dog ate. I can tell you that she was emaciated after only 2 days, and would not stop drinking water when we got her home. If it had been any longer, I think she would have died. She also is completely hoarse and cannot bark at all. (And this is a dog that never barks). If you love your animals, please stay away from this place (which BTW smells like holy hell).
Shaved beard off my German Wire haired pointer. People were not pleasant to me. I will not go back
I took my collie here for a grooming yesterday after bouncing around the area a bit searching for a groomer that could work with my shy/skittish rescue collie. I understand he may not be the easiest to groom, but he's my best friend and just needs a little patience on the groomer's table. The good people at Cedar Creek Pet Resort did a fabulous job in a reasonable amount of time and at a fair price. When Katie brought him out to lobby to meet me, he was prancing.
I'm very happy to have found a place that understands not all dogs are outgoing and excited to be in a strange situation. For me, this is extremely reassuring. He definitely looks and smells great, but I'm even happier to know that he's in such good hands there. Highly recommended to anyone with similar concerns for their dogs.
