This was my families first time going since AMC took over and it was a total mess inside the lobby. To make matters worse, they have taken away the deal you can get on Tuesdays on a cheaper ticket and snacks and made it where you have to be part of a club to get the deal. It does not say that on the sign but they gave my husband and daughter a hard time when they were so excited to go see a movie. Since they were going to pay full price they went to another theater that was clean and had nicer customer service.
This place is gross. No one checks to see if you even purchased tickets you can just walk in. Which you should because this place is so filthy and run down they shouldn't bother charging admission. Trash everywhere! In the bathrooms, lobby, hallways, theaters, and every spot in between. If it wasn't for location they would be out of business. Drive a little bit further and go to a much better movie theater.
First visit since AMC completely took over what was Carmike. Thankfully I arrived earlier than even I thought necessary to see 6pm showing of Coco. The 2 open cashiers both had lines that were ridiculously long and snaked throughout the entire main room. Purchased 3 tickets, popcorn, nachos and a drink. Every drink station (touch sensor automated soft drink dispensers) had more options Unavailable than available and the nacho cheese wasn't warm. There were absolutely NO child booster seats available despite the fact that not a single child had one in the entire screening room we were in. Finally just put my youngest in my lap so she could see, but also to keep her from touching the seats. There was trash and sticky residue EVERYWHERE I tried to sit. And of the 2 different employees I interacted with, one was pleasant and the other made no attempts to hide her disdain for being at work. This used to be the theater I chose 99% of the time (when it was Carmike) but since being bought by AMC, it has drastically declined on so many levels as opposed to improving upon the ready-made opportunity that was Carmike
Poor service, ticket person sent us into a theater that had a movie still playing. Screens are smaller than average. Ordering tickets for 12 online and never had a group sales person return call in over 3 weeks. Not to mention the 35.00 in convenience fees. What convenience?
It was easy to get to and it was not crowded which was great!! The actual seats were not that comfortable and there was days worth of food and trash on the floor but I overlooked it. The movie quality was great.
Decent location as far as the theater size and available showings. However, the staff is made up of teens that could care less if you're there or not. The lobby and hallways always smell like recently cleaned up vomit and the staff does nothing to prevent other moviegoers from ruining the experience for you. Go to the other AMC Classic if you want to actually enjoy a night out.
Overall the place is fallen apart. Dirty. The parking lot always full of trash. The trees hang down and scrap your vehicle coming thru parking lot. It used to be one of the best years ago, as for service, well what service. Can hardly buy a ticket on Friday night. Because service is slow.
Stopped in for a weekend in Savannah and decided to come see the "It" movie. I pulled into a vacant parking lot something you'd see in a horror movie. I walked to the ticket booth, empty. Finally a younger gentleman opened the door and peeped his head out and said "Where's yo ticket?" Wow he was also wearing slide shoes with socks to work. LOL! My flip flops immediately began sticking to the floor. It was absolutely nasty. I proceeded with caution. My husband walked into the bathroom and walked right back out. Apparently a floor urinal had pee sitting in the floor. Ew! My husband went back out and asked "you didn't tel us what theater to go to where do we go?" He said "number 5." Okay so we walk down the creepy dark hall and none of the rooms have NUMBERS! Where is #5 is none of them have numbers OR display what movie title is showing?! This place is a BUST! Ghetto.. I got my refund before even thinking about continuing to see the film and left. Gross establishment.
We laughed as we walked in the theater. We read some reviews before visiting and thought, eh, it can't be that bad. But- The reviews are true, folks!
The parking lot is full of litter and the grass is growing up. The floor inside is covered with popcorn and trash with the workers standing around talking and making no attempts to sweep it up.
When you walk in the theater it really is super dark. I know that's a strange complaint about a theater, but you seriously have to use a flash light to get to an open seat. And when you get to a seat, make sure it actually has a cushion! We almost sat on one without.
And finally, even though our movie was supposed to start at 7, it was well past 7:20 before a patron finally had to leave the theater to remind them to start the show
We were seriously laughing at the sad state of this place. The ONLY positive thing was that the girls who sold us the tickets and took the tickets were friendly.
Decent neighborhood movie theater. Definitely no staff push for extra customer service or cleanliness. Not nasty just not clean. If you want to you can make almost anything clean with effort. This would make an immediate impact. Also why would you on-line information not list your weekend early matinee times? Maybe that is why there were only ~8 people in to watch my particular movie. Trees down in the parking area should have been a sign. Sue-a-matic lawyers would have a field day here.
The 5$ Tuesday movie is a great price that doesn't burst a budget, if you wanted to get a small popcorn and drink a well.
Stopped in on vacation to see a late night movie with the family. The theatre room got to about 85 degrees and we were sweating. One employee on staff and even though she was super nice. There is no way one person could run the theatre.snack counter.clean the theatre rooms and much more. Whoever owns or runs this establishment really needs a reality check on how to run a business. So sad.
So much has changed at this theater over the years. My experience was horrible. Both concession stand were NOT fully operational. One stand had popcorn, the other stand's candy display was VERY limited, no cheese for nachos. You had to pay for popcorn on one side and pick up the popcorn on the other side. Popcorn was ALL over the floor. The floor was so sticky in the lobby my flip-flops almost popped. The ladies bathroom was disgusting! There was tissue all over the floor. There was no soap, no paper toilet and ALL 3 hand dryer were OUT OF ORDER!!!!! We had to hunt down which room beauty and the Beast was playing in. They basically act like they are going out of business.
Not crowded, but it was a matinee. The volume was perfect and the movie started on time. The carpets smelled of urine in the theater.
This place had the most disgusting men's restroom. It looked like something you would see at an old gas station in the middle of the dessert. With the prices for tickets, popcorn, candy & drinks I would think the owners could do better.
