Nice elevated viewing areas for bird watching and ocean views. There are paths for exploring nature. Light House is open to public, but for a fee. There is a water station which also accommodates your dog. Dogs on leash are welcome, but not in all areas. Information building, rest rooms, picnic areas available. Well maintained pleasant area for a relaxing visit.

We stopped here for a break on a bike ride from Wildwood. Cool park! Very clean and well kept. There were picnic tables which made for a nice resting place. Nice to check out.

Great spot for birding and people watching as well. There is a very nice beach and shady gazebos to get out of the sun. The lighthouse is also located there. I didn't see any concessions, so bring your own.

A hidden beauty of the state. Beautiful beach very relaxing not very crowded clean and safe for all families. You can climb up the lighthouse and visit a small local museum or walk the nature trail while bird watching

Small fee to climb the lighthouse but it's the best view around.

The small museum is free and they offer good insight to local history and the animals of the local ecosystem. The park offers loads of hikes and birds watching events if you check their website.

There are some lawn areas where you can picnic but you'll want to bring your own shade.

The beach is easily accessible from the parking lot but it's a good distance to the water. Nice beach for sun and getting in the water.

There are several trails through the wetlands and those have plenty of shaded areas, but as they get close to the beach, there's no cover. The trail has long sections of elevated boardwalks wide enough for a wheelchair in the wettest places so you can walk most of them even after a rain. No ramps further in though. There are lots of sandy areas that can be a bit soft and are fine to walk but aren't really wheelchair friendly.

The trails allow access to the beach at both ends. But the beach can be a looooong walk through the soft sand to the parking lot if you get out at the far end of the trail, especially if you have little ones. If you want the beach, better to use the access right at the parking lot.

There are restrooms (buildings, not port-a-johnny's) and water fountains by the lighthouse parking lot too. No fountains or bathrooms in the trails though.

This is a lovely spot to visit if you happen to be down in Cape May. The Lighthouse itself is nice - you can climb to the top for about $8 per adult. It's a bit of a hike up a winding narrow staircase but there are alcoves by the window explain Cape May history and the view at the top is terrific. There is a small museum and nature center at the bottom which is nicely done and explains some history of Cape May.

Enjoyed the light house. A must if you enjoy history. Loved the view from the top. Just remember to wear good shoes as the steps are open grate style cast iron. It is windy at the top, so hold on to your things. The rest of the park, from the beach to the raptor platforms as nice.

One of my if not my favorite state park in the country. The place is an absolute gem for South Jersey, with beautiful beaches and a lighthouse that is both historic and deep in aesthetic. Recommend taking the small hikes along the well kept up trails around the area. Great for bird watching as well being one of the finest places in the country for it!

Cape May State Park has something for everyone, as long as everyone is interested in nature, birds, beaches, or lighthouses. The park centers around the lighthouse, which is essentially the prototype for exactly what a lighthouse should look like. There is also access to the beach here and an old bunker on the shore. Further in is the trail which winds around several ponds and marshes where lots of birds can be found. There is even a platform for birdwatching and boy does it get popular. The trails are nice as well as they are boardwalk which make for easy stroller access. The park is a great way to experience the natural beauty of Cape May and the shore.

Great place for a day out. A lot of fresh air. Great beach for tanning. Trails for all. Visit the light house. The views are breath taking. And great sea food board walk is about 15 minutes away (ask the locals for the name). Don't go for the ship wreck (you can't really see much of it).
