I went to this restaurant last Friday and was not impressed with their food. I ordered a shrimp taco. They charged me $1.00 for cheese. Like seriously cheese is supposed to be in the taco so why did I get charged for cheese? The food to me was nasty it did not taste like an authentic Mexican restaurant food more like generic. Usually I tip my waiter but not this time because I was disappointed in the overall food and service. Last Friday visit is my first and last time visiting

The margaritas are good and it is a good place to meet up with friends. The pitside seating is a bonus. The food is edible but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. Service varies. Some of the waiters are great. Some spend more time talking to the other servers than actually helping the customers.

This place gets 5 stars for being super vegan friendly and super delicious! They offer vegan crema and vegan cheese. We also had the watermelon lemonade and our waitress suggested salt on the rim. It is seriously the most delicious non-alcoholic drink I've ever had. I love that they have creative options for those of us who don't want to drink alcohol! The servers were all very friendly and helpful, though just a bit overextended. I can't wait to go back!

I like this place. The margaritas are good. The food is good sometimes and average other times. The staff can be strange but are mostly friendly and helpful. Tip them well please; especially that tall man that works so hard. The acoustics are terrible indoors, making it too noisy for my ears and to speak with friends. The tables can be cleaner as well. Oftentimes they are sticky. I will go there again for sure though.

Awesome margaritas. I come regularly and I m never disappointed. The bloody Mary is great too, one of the best in town. Nice price great service. The lamb and veggie burrito and mushroom quesadillas are excellent. As almost all the rest of the menu.

We went on a Thursday night and being that it was the first gorgeous day in awhile, they were packed. We were told it'd be a 40min wait so we grabbed a spot at the bar, ordered a couple blood orange margaritas (DELICIOUS!) and enjoyed the 90s alt rock they were playing. We ended up being seated outside within 10 minutes! Everything we ordered was perfect and came at a good pace. We'll definitely be back!

Cantinas is located in a wonderful spot right on passyunk.Sitting outside is by far better than inside as it gets pretty warm inside. It's a little hard to figure the menu out because they try to stick to "Mexican tradition" and keep Spanish in the menu. All of that adds to a special charm so it's fine the only real problem I even have is the service. A friend and I go weekly to have burritos as it's our favorite! But whenever we go the waiters and waitresses are so uninterested. I get everyone has bad days but after coming numerous times, different days and different hours and the same staff is always like that it brings the vibe down. Also the time it takes to get refills is quite honestly appalling. It took 30 minutes to get chips refilled! Worse was that it was a very unbusy Monday. So point is if you're going for food and drinks it's fun just bring a big crowd and don't expect the server to come by often.

Cantina Los Caballitos, or "Cantina" as it's called by the locals, is DELICIOUS. They flavors they use in their Mexican food is out of this world. They also have the most delicious margaritas I've ever had. They have different kinds of pitchers you can order for margaritas. Always just order the full margarita pitcher for the table. I recommend the margarita called "La Onda" which is a watermelon style

Great neighbourhood gathering spot that attracts an all ages crowd for lunch and dinner. Dining is indoors in two rooms with adjacent bar, or outside on the patio or under the large tent in warm weather. Friendly servers, casual atmosphere, relaxed vibe, very good food and Margaritas! The Cantina can handle large parties (best to call to reserve) as well as walk-ins. Children are welcome as well are pets, but only on the patio. Portions are reasonably sized and prices are moderately priced. It's the kind of place so affordable you'll be back at least once a week.

Excellent service. The hostess in particular is consistently really great. This is probably the most popular restaurant in East Passyunk. They have a great outdoor space when it is nice out. They usually have good beer. The drinks are good but definitely not the best. The food is pretty good, but you might think its a little expensive for what it is. I recommend the mushroom quesadillas, the wings, chicken tacos, and enchiladas.

I've been coming to both Cantina locations for over a decade, Los Caballitos was my first experience and always my preferred location. I planned on going here for a friends birthday only to find out they closed today due to political motivations. It's a shame as it was going to be a happy and fun night with old friends and now we're forced to go elsewhere. Nothing irks me more than when a business can't remain apolitical and chooses to isolate a group of it's customer base. I can no longer recommend dining at their establishment. For those who feel the same, El Camino is a great alternative.
