The people here are great. Very nice place. Stayed twice in the past month and wasn't disappointed either time.
Perfect, comfy rooms. Dishwasher, stove top, microwave. Dishes, bowls, everything you would need to make a meal in room.
Love this place!! Great suites & 5 Star staff
Hotel seemed to be recently updated. Pleasant staff and a clean room. The smell of food cooking was all over the hotel some good some bad but, that should be expected in a hotel with a full kitchen.
Very affordable and an accommodating staff. Suites are great for small families.
I want to start by mentioning that I originally tried to submit this review on the hotel’s own website twice but it was rejected by IHG. The reasons they gave in their rejection email were kind of vague and after the first rejection I edited my review but it was rejected again. I called IHG Guest Relations to find out what specifically was wrong with my review and I was told that IHG corporate doesn’t monitor reviews. The hotel itself is in charge of filtering reviews and they were the ones who were rejecting my review. I called the hotel to find out how I could edit my review and they told me that corporate handled reviews. This back-and-forth was frustrating and I knew right then that I would likely never get my review approved through IHG so I decided to post it in alternate review sites. I don’t feel there is anything inflammatory or inappropriate in my review that would warrant being rejected by IHG. You can decide.
First I will say that the staff at the Candlewood Suites in Braintree, MA was very courteous and friendly. However, the poor shape of the property puts their front desk staff in an unfair position since there is a limit to how much a friendly and courteous staff can solve. Here is a list of the issues that led to my poor overall experience:
1) The shade on the window that blocks out the sun was missing in the living room. That allowed tons of sunlight to come in at dawn which woke my child up, which woke us up. I told the front desk staff and they said they would fix it while we were out of the room for the day. When we returned at the end of the day nothing had been done. So I had to go down to the front desk again and wait for them to send someone up to install a shade, which they did. This incident alone is no big deal but it was just one of several issues.
2) It began to rain the second night we were there and the ceiling in the bedroom began leaking. We had to put a bath towel down to quietly collect the drips as we were trying to sleep. The next day I looked closer and there was old water damage at the ceiling near the window, which indicated this was an existing problem that never got fixed. That’s unacceptable for any hotel room. See the pictures of the ceiling I posted with this review.
3) We were on the third floor and on checkout day (during July 4th holiday weekend) the elevator broke which means me (and everyone else in the hotel) had to lug all of our stuff down the stairs. See the pictures of the broken elevator I posted with this review.
4) As my two-year old was walking around the front sidewalk and flowerbed/mulch in their parking lot he came across a used condom and almost stepped on it. It was in plain view. It’s obvious why this is unacceptable so I won’t go into any more detail about it. See the pics I've included.
5) The cost for this hotel was as much as $178/night. There are much cleaner and nicer hotels with kitchens and bedroom suites within a 15-minute drive from Candlewood in Braintree that cost much less than that.
Lastly, everything I mentioned here in this review I told to the front desk staff (other than the elevator and the high price of the room). I just gave them the feedback in a polite way and went back to my room. They ended up voluntarily giving me some points specifically for the leaky ceiling. But that was before I discovered the condom.
As you can imagine, I will not be returning to this hotel.
Cozy rooms, love the kitchenette, dishwasher. Flat screen, good size room, tub. Upbeat staff. Bring breakfast and make in your roomgreat way to start the day. Relatively easy to find. Near shopping mall.
Everything was clean and well maintained. My room was on the third floor, am elevator was available to me as were stairs, both easy to find. Staff was helpful when ever I had questions. Having laundry facilities on hand was amazing.
Nice suite, funny odor but the window was able to be opened
I WORK HERE AN THERE ARE BEUTIFUL PEOPLE THERE MY EMPLOYEES AND THE GUEST WHO STAY THERE ARE VERY NICE
Rooms are neat and spacious.staffs are nice and kind.Room service could have been done weekly twice instead of only once.
Room was spacious and quiet. I enjoyed my stay. The suite also had a full kitchen.
Not the most modern establishment but it has been comfortable and accommodating. They are pretty hands off and let you actually "live" here. Great for extended stays and pet friendly.
