DECEMBER 23 UPDATE: Still waiting for the parts to be sent because the service dept. could never commit to fixing this. Corporate just gave me the company party line and did nothing. Waiting for 1 month to get s release form that they need to mail me so that we can have them ship the parts and repair it ourselves. Pretty sure that is never going to happen!
Read on for the prelude to this ridiculous saga. Rv was in for service May 1. 6 month old RV bought at their store. They had it for the month. 3 things were on the repair list. Hot water heater was the main issue I had been trying to get them to fix the the entire month of April. Voice messages were ignored, promises to call back weren't kept. We set up our RV this week and discovered the water heater situation unchanged. I was told there was nothing about this being worked on in my file. We are set up in a rural area and do not have the ability to bring it in. The service manager seems to think I have nothing better to do than run in and out and try and fix it via a phone call. My husband and son are currently trying to fix it. He also made no effort to get back to me after I emailed photos Monday. I had to call him 24 hours later to remind him I still existed. He needs to learn how not to talk to women. I would give them a negative review if I could. Calls to general manager went unanswered. Receptionist hung up on me when I said I was calling their corporate office. A reputable business would apologize and send a technician out to remedy the situation. The only competent person I have dealt with is Gene their driver.
I used to be a salesperson at this store, if you look back you will see a great number of Google reviews with customers who had a positive experience with me. Asheville has had to hire all new technicians for service, because several of their experienced technicians, the delivery coordinator, and a couple of salespeople cannot work with the sales manager. He is an abrasive individual, and not a man of his word. Until this situation can be rectified, I would strongly advise you to go to Camping World of Spartanburg, they have an experienced service staff, wonderful management and sales team You will just have to overlook their small parking lot.
Robert Whitney, our salesman at Camping World was outstanding. From the very beginning he was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and diligent in finding us just what we wanted. Even after he had a camper we requested brought in with an interior we thought we wanted and upon seeing it realized we did not, Robert never seemed annoyed. He assured us that his goal was to find us just what we wanted, and that is exactly what he did! We think Robert is a stellar salesman, and we highly recommend him to anyone interested in purchasing a camper.
My recent experience at Camping World was very pleasant experience they were the easiest people to deal with. My salesman Mike Frank, manager David and lending officer Adam couldn't do enough for me.My purchase had a snag where my complex had issues with the trailer I had purchased. I presented this to David and he was able to reverse the sale a long with Adams great understanding, the purchase was corrected. Now that I have the problem corrected I plan on purchasing my trailer in the next few days from Camping World Thanks Guys
Was in the process of buying a used RV from an individual. Camping world offers a 44 point inspection to ensure all major items are functional. I made a reservation for the inspection at 10:30 am on a Thursday. My wife and I drove 1.5 hours and met the seller at camping world for the inspection.
Despite have made a reservation at 10:30 with Nichole and following up the day before to confirm, when we arrived she told us they were to busy to do the inspection on that day. Her attitude extremely rude and she could have cared less. I finally ask for a manager and that got her moving. After 30 minutes she came back and told us they could do it at 12:30. The job was supposed to be one hour. They finally finished at 2:30.
I will not return to this location.
Gary (wonderful guy) was our salesman and he took his time, was never pushy and got us the best deal. I like how the RV's are spread out and not crammed together. NOW, FOR THE LATEST IN WARRANTY WORK !!!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR RV BACK TO THIS DEALER ! IT WILL TAKE THEM FOREVER, YOU WILL OR MAY PICK UP NEW SCRATCHES AND DENTS (AS OURS DID) AND THEY WILL NOT DO WHAT THE ORDER DETAILSPROMISE!
Thank you Allison Masters for all of your help! Allison was super helpful and knowledgeable through the entire process of our trade. She was super friendly every time we talked with her and she didn't try to sell us anything extra. If you are looking for a camper, go see Allison!
Let me start by saying this is primarily a review of the Service Department. My dealings with the retail side and front desk have been pleasant and that is the only reason they get a star. I have no idea about the Sales Department or team.
I took my unit to Camping World to be serviced for a recall and some warranty work almost 3 months ago. It sat on their lot for a number of weeks with no action. We had a trip planned, so I went to check on it. First, they couldn't find any of my information. Then, after we found it they hadn't touched it. I took it home for our trip. I immediately brought it back when they told me, "the parts are in!" After about a month I received a call to let me know my unit was sitting on their lot and they were not responsible for damage in the impending weather. So I decided to go pick it up. Again, they couldn't find the unit. When I found my camper on the lot, it was unlocked and not only had none of the work been completed it was in worse shape than when I dropped it off. So I took it home.
This service department is the most unorganized and inefficient place I have visited. If this work EVER gets finished, it will be may last dealing with them. I will drive across the country to have ANYONE else work on it.
Bought my first camper back in October the Sales department was great. The first weekend out the camper was back in for service work cause the fresh water tank would fill up when hooked to city water. Next trip out the camper was back in for work again on the sink drain. This time they told me they couldn't find the issue so I had to make them check it again for someone else to find the issue. Next trip out the camper was back at the service department for 3 weeks for the same issue I had the first time on the fresh water tank. they told me they couldn't find anything wrong so I went used it right after and took it right back and now still after 2 weeks the technicians say they can't find the issue I'm telling them about so i again had to make the technicians look at it again cause I know there is an issue. I've never received a call just giving me an update on where my camper was and I specifically tell them just keep me updated.
Josh Ball did excellent. We put him through the ringer buying our first camper. He was great and found us the one we love. Go see him.
I will now edit my review due to the service department. They need to let everyone go and get new people who know how to handle and communicate with the public. Called to check the status of my brand new camper being worked on less than a week after buying it. Faucet was busted and the awning had several holes in it. Still no word on the replacement awning. Also no one calls anyone back. If you don't know anything and it's been 9 days at least call and tell me you are still waiting to hear from the manufacturer. Not hard to do at all. Salesman was great would buy from him again if he worked for another company. Wish I could turn in the mistake. Also no matter who you talk to at the store or the company office you get the same excuses and no results.

One of the best and least pressure experiences ever!
The Camping World advertisement lead us to Camping World of Asheville. We met with Matthew Frank. I have been in the automotive industry most of my life. I know what pressure can be put onto a customer. Well, the exact opposite experience just happened. Matt was kind, easy, knowledgeable and very responsive and bent over backwards to put a deal together that was just awesome. I never had to wait for long to get a callback from Matt if we had questions. If you ever visit Camping World of Asheville, you must ask for Matthew Frank. Folks, you will not be disappointed.
Mark Young has treated me and my father wonderfully. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely buy from him again. Lisa Bradley was very friendly and helped us with all our paperwork.
This is our second purchase from Camping World. This time we worked with Robert Whitney and had a very smooth trade and purchase transaction. He was always available and responded quickly to phone calls and emails. Thank you for an easy experience Robert. We are enjoying our new camper.
In November 2016 we purchased a 22FE Freedom Elite from CW - Asheville, NC. Mark Young was our salesperson. He was very helpful & knowledgeable. He listened to us and sold us exactly what we wanted. There was no up sell! How nice is it to find a person that hears what you say and takes good care of you. The entire team at this Camping World has been excellent. We had a small issue with a door after our 1st trip and the Service Dept. - Autumn Lance was so helpful. She explained what Thor thought was the remedy (what to fix and repair)and we started there. Communication has been good & CLEAR. And every time we stop by this Asheville/Hendersonville Camping World location - we are greeted with smiles.
