Great trail for any age to enjoy beautiful scenery. Fall is beautiful
This is an excellent spot if you want a short walk to the High Bridge. Ample parking and restrooms. You're about a 1/2 mile walk to the bridge.
Clean parking lot, plenty of parking. Good trail for dogs. Great views from this section of the trail.
Wonderful biking, walking, and hiking trails! Very peaceful and scenic.
Best bike riding & a fun day trip to Farmville. The park rangers were good to see!
This space is great, though it's somewhat difficult to locate the actual entrance as all State Park signage points in a different direction and then you end up following directions specifically to Camp Paradise and worry that you're going in the wrong direction only to end up exactly where you need to be. It's really more of an issue with the directional signage on the local roads than with the park itself.
The family really enjoyed this park as simple as it sounds, walking out in the bridge was fun and relaxing. The small shelters out on the bridge were great, we sat and enjoyed the view and breeze for a while. Easy walking from the nearby llarking off Camp Paradise road. Ranger Bob did a great job on the guided walking tour of the substructure very interesting history lesson.
I love this trail!
High Bridge Trail is an amazing trail to go walking, biking, or horseback riding. Due to it being a converted railroad track, the grade is easy. The view at the High Bridge is amazing and well worth the ride/walk. Camp Paradise is a nice area to jump on the trail (there is a parking lot to park your car) or to stop and have a picnic. There is a place to tie up your horse as well as bathrooms. The bathrooms are really just really nice outhouses and can smell pretty awful, but it's a bathroom on a trail, so you get what you get. On the backside of the parking lot there is an old graveyard that interested the group of high school students I had with me. Jump on the trail here and ride the 5 or so miles into Farmville for a bite to eat. It's an awesome place.
Amazing piece of history and great location for a hike
The marker led us right to the parking lot that's closest to the bridge. Great views. We went late fall and most of the leaves had already fallen.
The High Bridge in the park holds some breathtaking vistas for the hiker or bicycler. We thoroughly enjoyed the view.
On the other hand, as the other reviewer noted, the physical address listed by Google for the actual park is completely erroneous -- is the address for the office.
Following the incorrect address landed us in the middle of nowhere. The actual address for the parking area near the bridge itself is 555 River Road, Farmville.
Not sure who is responsible for this error, Google or the park service, but for those of us who are unfamiliar with the park and the area, making a correction could eliminate much frustration, waste of time and gas.
